This was for a gala for the local period symphony.
Fit was fine, although a bit loose in the chest (I'm small-chested). it was far more white than the picture made it look, and the embroidery was less subtle. Still a cute dress but maybe not as sophisticated as I was going for. The length was good, though, and it wasn't too tight in the hips (which I always fear).

Wore this to a black tie cocktail party and dinner on a boat. Outdoors. In 90 degree heat. Cool!
I was scared of the fit with all the reviews about it being small but found the 6R just a little too large. I'm small chested and small waisted, so maybe that was it? It held up but I padded a fair amount to make it do so. It is long; I wore 4-5" heels and it was too the floor when I stood up very straight. It was extremely comfortable on a hot summer evening. Stayed up, floated around me in any breeze there was. Looked good, too. I would wear this again.

Gala at Boston Symphony Hall - such a lovely evening
Gorgeous dress. The back is hugely flattering. Do your crunches, though; not a lot of wiggle room in the belly area. It was too short for me, so I didn't end up wearing it. The 6L would have been great.

Gala for the 200th anniversary of the Handel & Haydn Society in Boston's Symphony Hall - magic!
Didn't actually wear this. It was a backup dress and I went with the original one. Loved the fit and the cut. In daylight, though, the top looked very cheap and plastic (okay, it _is_ plastic). Maybe in dim light it would work, but in anything bright it didn't look good. If it has been lace or sequin on top I probably would have worn it.

Surprisingly comfortable and quite the show-stopper
Very long. I wore my tallest (4") heels and it was borderline too long still. Ran a little large in the waist and shoulder area for me, but fit perfectly through the hips. The waist is much more generous than the picture makes it seem. I also would have wished for some more bust to fill out the top, but c'est la vie. Make some time to steam it before you go - it wrinkles easily. Beyond that, glamour glamour all the way - I loved it.

Wore this to a symphony gala in Boston. Cocktails, dinner, dancing - and the dress fit in perfectly.
For length: I'm 5'5, wore 3.5" heels, and the dress was about 1-2" off the ground. The fit was completely easy; no tight waist or clinging in the hips (and I'm a pear, so that's unusual!). The bust is the only real place to watch for the fit. I'm small-chested (34B) and couldn't get the size 36R to zip. The 38R zipped right up (although the zipper was a bit stiff). Definitely avoid the gold or the pearls with this one - the shoulder is quite large and all silver/crystal. It's also very definitely navy in person; it's not as dark as it looks in the picture. This was a black tie gala in a pretty conservatively dressed town - not the place to wear anything too tight or too glittery. This dress fit in perfectly, and I felt like some navy greek statue walking through the crowd.
