This dress is silk. I did not mind the light wrinkles of this fabric because it was so comfortable. I steamed it lightly with a handheld steamer to release the wrinkles but it wasn't necessary. This natural fabric is very breathable and allowed me to not get overheated while dancing and having fun at a springtime wedding. It was gorgeous! I got many compliments, which is nice for a middle-aged woman! I felt elegant, and only wore a strapless bra and regular undies with ThighSociety biker-style shorts underneath. I'm 5'3" and the dress was the perfect length with 3" platform sandals (see pic).
