This big coat had the last laugh
I didn't rent this with high expectations - "it doesn't contain any wool, so it won't be very warm." Ha! I was so wrong. I ended up wearing it EVERY DAY for OVER A WEEK during a massive cold snap. It's long, so it kept my legs warmer, and it runs big, which was perfect for layering on top of thick sweaters without looking like an overstuffed toddler. MANY compliments. My only problem is that the material is a pretty loose weave. This could make it more prone to snags; then again, my rental didn't have any snags, so who knows?

Accent outerwear, but more like a sweater
FYI, the material is more like a densely knitted sweater with a short fuzzy pile that's been constructed like a coat. This is useful; the stretchy material makes it cozier for, say, wearing to an event in cold weather where you may want to leave your coat on. I wore it to church and to the opera on a cold-ish, rainy day in early Spring over a basic black dress and got several compliments!

No one constructs a garment like Ralph Lauren
I mean it - no one constructs a garment like Ralph Lauren, and this dress proves it with impeccable tailoring. Even though it's thin cotton poplin, this dress is SO WELL MADE, which is rare in that material. Despite many previous rentals, it's held its shape well and fits the body perfectly. I layered it with a RTR coat in white/tan/mid blue plaid to add dimension, as this dress is a little monochromatic, esp on my beigey skin. Highly reccommended!

Quiet luxury = tailoring
Impeccably constructed and tailored - just what you'd expect of Ralph Lauren. The tailoring gently adds shape to the waist area. I found the arms/shoulders to be slightly small and I had to make sure to only wear it with thin shirts with fitted sleeves/sleeveless. It looks even better in person; in a business setting, it's subtly unique and quietly stands out. I wore it for a presentation and to a career fair with monochrome navy top and pants to make the jacket stand out. Note: the fabric contains linen, so it will not look perfectly smooth (this is part of the charm of linen), however the blend of fibers keeps it from wrinkling/looking rumpled as much as a full linen garment. The lining material is softer and more comfortable than the usual polyester lining of other jackets.

Perfect for Warmer Autumns
I live in Texas, so I wanted something that looked autumnal but wasn't too warm and didn't contain wool - this worked perfectly. The material is synthetic, but feels very high-end and looks brand new; it's holding up to RTR's washing and packing very well (and this is from someone who's typically a synthetic fiber-hater!). Fit was intentionally slightly oversized and fit well over my larger hips. I work at a university, and I got stopped by several students on the sidewalk to compliment my outfit - even the youths liked it!
