I Liked the Concept
I really liked the idea of this dress - the fabrication and the layering - but I wouldn't wear it twice. The fit was off; the straps just kept falling off my shoulders - you may need a longer torso for this style. It really wasn't flattering on me and the length was not quite long enough. I wore a bra (though you don't really need to if you are similar in size) but my bra straps showed (which may bother some women). Overall, it was just a lot of effort to wear this dress.

Cute Top But Not Worth the Effort
The top is a nice fabric and is quite pretty. However, the straps aren't a fixed length and have to be tied - it was a pain to try to get the straps even. There are also flowy pieces in the front and back that tie together at the side -an unnecessary detail that didn't enhance the top. It also ran large (at least on me); you can't really wear a bra with the top (not an issue for me but it may be for anyone with a larger chest).

Pretty
I really wanted to love this top, but the fit was off (too large, though I think a smaller size would have been too tight), the zipper in the back puckered, and the seams on the shoulders didn't lay flat. Besides fit issues, it is a gorgeous color and I liked the length and weight. I did not end up wearing it because of the fit issues (especially the zipper pucker), but on the right body type it could be perfect for work or to dress up jeans.

Flattering
The dress is very flattering - I am usually a size 4 and ordered the size 8 (British sizing). I didn't end up wearing the dress because it wasn't really my style, but it would be perfect for a daytime event. The only negative was that the dress looked wrinkled (it is cotton), hence the 4 star rating. But otherwise, it is a pretty dress!
