Not waist flattering
If you carry any weight in your belly/torso this will just emphasize that. They fit, but the “open” flaps at the waist pushed out and made it look like I was bursting.

I’m usually a 30 so I hoped the 29s would fit. Spoiler: they didn’t (they zipped up but very tight). I’m guessing the 30 would be perfect. Nice quality otherwise, will try again next time.

Ultimately I loved this dress - I wasn’t sure since in many photos the waist looked bumpy and bunchy and the chest looked saggy. But if you pull the dress down so that the horizontal gathers are more spread out down your torso, and then wear some sort of shaping front/sticky bra (don’t need lift, just some shape), it looks amazing. Very comfortable too, even though it’s backless. RTR told me to get an XL but I got an M and it fit perfectly. XL would have been unwearable

Felt like a cartoon character
It looks so nice on others in photos but looked comically huge on me. The shoulders were so floppy and the skirt was so long. Maybe it works better if you are petite with a small waist. Would suggest sizing down, although I probably would have felt the same in a smaller size

Flowy and frumpy
Didn’t wear - it looked nice on others in the photos but I have a straighter figure so it just made my shoulders look wide and the hips look saggy and baggy. Maybe it works better if you’re curvier. I’m also tall so the print didn’t work so well on me (looked retro/80s and 90s wallflower print).

Got a lot of compliments but I thought it was just ok
This is a pretty dress but nothing special. I wore it to a wedding welcome party where the bride/groom and guests were pretty conservative. The waist ties were confusing as I wasn’t sure where the waist was supposed to fall or how tight it was meant to be tied. I received a lot of compliments though. Definitely size down

This is cute
I was surprised at how comfortably this fit around the waist. I have a straighter figure and usually something that fits in the waist is too wide in the hips, but this was just right. The fabric did not wrinkle and it was cool and easy to walk around in. Would wear again.

Frumpy and unattractive
Didn’t wear out. The chest is way too big, even if you have a big chest there is extra balloony fabric to the sides under the arms. It dips way too low in front. Also the torso is so short and flounces out so widely that it makes your stomach look like it’s protruding. I do not know who this was designed for.

So amazing I bought it
Rarely do I find a formal dress that looks GREAT on me and this one was it. Just fitted enough to be sexy and just stretchy enough to be comfortable all night. Didn’t even need shapewear. Will be wearing this one again. I got the “10L” but it was tagged “10”. Was floor length though, any shorter would have been too short.

Felt so glamorous and comfortable!
Wore this to the opera - absolutely loved this dress. RTR sent me an 8 (new with tags) and a 10, both in mint condition. While the 8 zipped up fine, the 10 was more comfortable around the waist/below the bust, although the bust was a bit too big. The fabric has no give, so if you have a wider back/shoulders, you might want to size up. I got a bunch of compliments, even from strangers - which means a lot in New York. Definitely order this one!
