I ordered this for a black tie wedding - and although it looks beautiful in the photo online, in my opinion, the dress does not present that way in person. As soon as I took it out of the bag I had doubts - and those doubts were confirmed when I walked downstairs wearing it and my kids laughed that I looked like I was wearing Harry Potter’s invisibility cloak - and I had to laugh because they were exactly right! In addition to the material being way too shiny and just overall odd, there is a weird gathering/overlap of fabric, almost like a big knot, right in the middle of the waistband - which made this weird bulge right in the middle of my waist - which is not something I wanted to highlight. I immediately went online and ordered backup dresses. This may be okay on some people but it was a big fail for me!

I rented this dress for a wedding, and was slightly concerned about the reviews about the fit of the arms, and ran into the same problem as other reviewers. Although both the 4 and 6 fit, I ended up wearing the 6 because the arm fit is very odd. The arms aren’t too tight, but it seems like the measurement between the armpit and the shoulder is too small, so the side doesn’t fit right under the armpit. Because of that, there are some gap issues in the back because the dress doesn’t sit flush against the skin. After wearing for a few hours, I realized I should have worn the smaller size because it did stretch out quite a bit. Despite those two negatives, the dress was very comfortable to wear, and flattering, and I loved the open back. I got a ton of compliments and I loved the bright color (because nearly every other woman was wearing black!). I am small busted, but there is no way you can go braless with this dress because it doesn’t fit right enough on the sides of the chest to keep everything where it should be. All in all, I loved the dress, and enjoyed wearing it, but be warned about the funky fit of the armpit area!

I am normally a size 4, but ordered a size 6 as the backup. Both dresses fit, but I felt that the tighter fit of the size 4 kept everything sucked in better than the larger size! The dress was comfortable to sit in and dance in, and the material had enough stretch that I could eat without feeling like I was going to pop the zipper. The dress did show some slight wear and tear - the boning in the cups was poking through the material and the hem was ripped when I got it; I emailed RTR and they are addressing the issue. My only complaint about the dress is that I should have ordered the Long - at 5'7, the Regular was barely long enough when I was standing barefoot. Overall, it is a beautiful dress - and so popular that another woman at the 60-person wedding was wearing the exact same dress!
