An 8 is going to be tight in the chest if you're a DD like me, but it worked better for me than the 10, which was a bit too loose. If you plan on dancing, definitely wear shorts or opaque tights underneath, because when you spin, the fabric flies out every which way.

As others have said, the lining is quite heavy and the bodice does not allow much room for a larger bust or arms. Since that was a concern for me, I sized up and I'm glad I did. The 8 fit me, but I would not have been comfortable/able to move my arms too much. I received lots of compliments on this dress (it matched my hair, after all!), but I didn't care for the way the side seams bunched at the pockets. All in all, the dress worked for me but I was hoping for a more flattering silhouette.

This dress was perfect for my friend's speakeasy party. As others have stated, it looks even more spectacular in person. The fit in the waist and hips is very forgiving, but the upper torso is fitted and the fabric is very delicate. If you have a large bust or wide shoulders, you may want to size up. The gown has bra strap holders, which came in very handy (if you aren't going strapless, I recommend a black bra).
