first... this is the first time I got an RTR dress with the tags still on... which was lovely to see that it hadn't been dry cleaned within an inch of its life... however, the cross straps felt like they were choking me, and the front pleats pulled oddly around the waist. the waist itself sits at an odd place - not quite empire, not quite natural waist. either way, this dress would look a lot better on a very tall, very thin person - not me, who is 5'4 and a fairly athletic / curvy build.

this dress is super cute - but also super short! I ordered the size 2 because reviewers said it ran large... the 4 would have been way too boxy throughout the body of the dress, but it might have given me an inch in length. basically I couldn't even raise my arms without the dress raising up to my butt. not really the look I was going for. would have been great had it actually been a little longer. for reference, I'm only 5'4, so if you're tall, I'd recommend wearing some pants with this!

I love this little clutch! Well, it isn't little per se, it actually holds quite a bit... I had my wallet, iPhone, compact, lip gloss, and camera in it, and there weren't any issues closing it or anything like that. I did notice there were some pen and other dirt markings on the bag, which I chalk up to wear and tear.

This is not a dress for long waisted girls! Overall, the proportions were just odd, and I feel like you have to have a very specific body type, similar to the model, for it to look good. The fabric was heavier than I expected, and I probably wouldn't rent it for a spring / summer event.

I need to point out that I am long waisted, and having a dress with such a defined natural waist is probably not a good one for me to wear. However, I thought it looked awesome in the photo and would have been perfect for the Alice in Wonderland themed gala I was attending. I tried pinning the fabric on the sides under the back bustle, adding a belt, not adding a belt, repinning the fabric, but all in all, I just looked lumpy. Super sad, because I think on the right body type this would look fantastic. Also, the dress is cotton, which I wasn't expecting. For some reason I thought it would be a different, more luxe, material.

so, here's the deal... this dress is adorable, with such awesome potential, but the one I had was in such poor condition and fit so awkwardly, there was no way I could wear it. The boning was poking out of the dress, to the point where it poked me and I was bleeding. The dress is not white, but a beige-y grey, which basically just made it look dingy. As for the fit, I am pretty long waisted, so this dress was fine up top, but then bunched around the hips and made me look disproportionate.

I rented both the 4R and 6R. For me, there wasn't a huge difference in the sizes, I normally wear a 2 or a 4. I would agree with getting the size you normally wear and then one size up. If you want the dress to be as long as it is in the picture, you will need to get a long size. Even barefoot it just touched the ground. Second, there are two zippers, one for the padded inside and one for the actual dress. If you are zipping yourself up, be prepared to zip the wrong zipper. A lot. Although the dress is padded on top, the lining actually rolls over the edge of the dress, which would be ok if it was the same color, but since it is black it just looks odd. I am long waisted, so the belt came just below my rib cage, making my hips look ginormous. Gorgeous in the picture, just did work for me in reality.

This dress is really short! The model must be wearing a long size, because even barefoot the dress didn't touch the ground. I tried both the 2R and 4R, which were nearly identical fits, minus the length. The 4R was just a tad looser, but not by much. It is very form fitting, so be prepared to wear some spanx if you aren't perfectly smooth!
