Since first browsing RTR this dress became my favorite. I couldn't wait for the perfect event to wear it to. My upcoming events were either too conservative or not formal enough for this gorgeous gown. A few things to note: It does run short as others have previously reviewed. I paid no attention to those comments since I never have a problem with a dress being too short. I wore my 3 inch heels and they were perfect but I had intended to wear higher heels and those were too tall. In my case, dress sizes are determined by my hips. I would have been a 4 in this dress had it not been for my hips; that left some room in the bust area and I had to wear a push up strapless to fill out the dress. My only negative comment is that there were a few spots on the trumpet of the dress that needed mending, nothing noticeable to others, but I noticed because I always examine the dress before I wear it. Since the dress is lace, you cannot even see the holes but I think they should be fixed and that is the only reason I m not giving the dress 5 stars. Regardless, I felt gorgeous and received endless compliments. This still remains my favorite RTR dress, based on the fit an how it made me feel.

This was not my first choice dress. I was originally afraid that the length would make me look shorter than I already am, in addition to shortening my legs. I hoped that the design of the dress would make up for it and it more than did. The design and fit were flattering and looked unique and unlike anything I have ever worn. Needless to say, there was no other dress remotely similar to this at the wedding. As far as sizing, I was an 8 solely on the basis of my hips. The dress has no stretch so if you are curvy like me, you will have to size up. This is why I think it runs small. The dress did not sag or fit loose on me and usually in size 8 dresses there are areas that I do not completely fill out. Even so, I have no complaints or qualms with this dress. I absolutely loved it and felt beautiful and stylish in it. I do want to mention something about RTR: On the day before I was to receive the dress, I received an email saying that the size 8 was damaged and I would have to choose a replacement by 5pm. I freaked out because 2 days before a December event, there was not much to choose from. I received another communication from RTR around 2pm telling me that there was a glitch in the system and they would let me know if I needed to choose another dress. Indeed, it was a glitch and I received the dress on time and in perfect condition. RTR was so amazing through the process!! They consistently communicated with me and it was obvious that these were people and not automated messages. As if the great service wasn't enough, RTR sent me a Godiva holiday gift in partial apology for the incident. I couldn't be happier with RTR, the service, and the dresses.

I wore this gown to my first Opera Opening Night as part of the staff. I needed a dress that stayed true to my age, body type, and style but was also conservative enough for a work event. I felt absolutely beautiful in this gown! It is not my usual first choice of color and style but I think it perfectly fit the profile of the evening. PRO's: I think the style and cut of the dress is flattering for every body type. There are ways around the low cut if you have a full bust; in my case I had to use 2 safety pins and some Hollywood tape to make sure that only the right amount of skin was showing. Normally, I would have probably used 1 safety pin and tape but I needed to remain a bit more conservative for this event. The length is as I expected it to be (everything is always long on me anyway). CON's: The only thing that I have to mention is for ladies like me, who have curvy hips. The slip on the dress stretches but is not relative to the chiffon overlay. So, in my case, I would have been a Size 4 were it not for the tightness of the slip. Even the 6 was a little snug. There is a stark contrast between the two layers of the dress, which may be deceiving for some when looking at pictures. The dress looks flowy but the slip will not be. I cannot really say anything negative about this dress, just a warning for fellow curvy girls. In general, this was my first experience renting from RTR and I was very nervous because I am not a one size girl. I can vary from size 2-8 depending on the dress, designer, style, fabric, etc... I am 100% satisfied with the experience and will be renting again soon. THANKS RTR!!
