I loved the color and material of this dress and really wanted to make it work, but the way it fits on my apple-shaped body required shapewear that just isn't possible with the open back. The straps wrapping around my shoulders also felt very weird and I think would have been bothersome the whole night. I'm also not comfortable or the right shape for going braless and I didn't try too hard but don't think any type of backless bra would have worked for me.

I have a small bust (but not the shape to go braless) relative to my thicker tummy area, and this dress just didn't work for me. It fit fine in the waist and zipped easily, but was just weird in the chest and back. I couldn't wear an adhesive bra without it showing underneath. The zipper puckered in the back, making it look awkward. Even though it's black and loose fitting around the abdomen, the material still showed my bumps meaning shapewear was required. If you're comfortable going braless and maybe have a bit more even chest:waist ratio, this would probably look lovely.

I'm the type of person who wears one pair of stud earrings for months/years without removing them, so I worry about heavy, dangly earrings. I also have extremely sensitive ears and can only wear sterling silver, gold, or titanium posts without getting a reaction within a few minutes. I'm not sure what material these are, but they didn't bother my ears even after several hours. They do feel heavy, but I didn't notice them after a bit. Highly recommend them! The colors are subtle so they can go with many things.
