I wore this to a murder mystery that was supposed to be set in 1918. I didn’t want anything overly costumy knowing that half the people wouldn’t come dressed up at all, and the other half would probably be in (very historically inaccurate for the time period) flapper dresses. This was perfect. The high neckline and general silhouette were a bit old fashioned but in a good way. The color is nice. The fabric hangs in a flattering way. Zero stretch so it was a little uncomfortable to sit in. My only complaint is that the back ties are way too short. It got a little messy in the back and good luck if you don’t have someone who is an expert gift wrapper trying to help you dress.

I wanted to love this but just didn't like the fit. In ways I can't describe it made me feel like an octopus. The middle is wider than the chest so it was kinda round in the middle. I got this as a backup for a formal wedding. I went with a different one that fit the wedding vibe a little more, but I would 1000% rent this again for a non-springtime wedding or gala. Really liked everything about this dress except the length. When I sat down there was no fabric to spare. With a deep V, no back, and no sleeves, I would have preferred a slightly more modest length. I'm 5'8 and pushing 200 pounds, but still usually wear a size 12. I ordered a 14 as backup and didn't even bother trying on the 12 because the 14 was already super tight! I'm bottom heavy, so it was particularly tight around my hips. The top was okay (I'm a 36C). I liked that this dress was knee length to balance the sexiness of the color and cut. The fabric was heavy enough to not show every bump and bulge, but I wore a shaper to hold in my stomach a little. Overall this dress is a great choice, but if you're curvy size up!
