Soft - not a hard case.
I rented this for a dress I ended up not wearing, but it was soft and I expected it to be a hard case. It was very pretty and would have been great...i just didn't use it.

Great dress. Comfortable. Moves easy. Waist could be more flattering.
Great dress. Danced in it all night and it moves great. Very comfortable. The waist could be more clearly defined...it is a little high-waisted, but other than that it worked well.

Has a bodice corset/bra inside - NOT removable. Weird. Fabric drags on the ground.
I order this along with another dress and I ended up wearing the other. This hangs and drags on the ground - not good for dancing. It has a thick bodice corset/bra attached that you would think you may like, but it has a double zipper and weird wires and that make your chest look awkward. I didn't like it and didn't wear it. Thank goodness I ordered a back up!

The top attachment on the shoulder is held together by a simple thread. I thought it was going to break at any moment all night! -but it didn't! Also, the belt kept coming unsnapped.
