I am usually a size medium in everything- but this dress runs so large! I would recommend ordering 1-2 sizes down. I would have worn the XS had I known. Reviews also said the dress was short- I found it to be much longer than described. Additionally, the dress looks very different in person than in the stock photos. It is a very thick material. The dress is more of a black dress with some designs than a black and tan dress. Overall, I'm a little disappointed with how this dress turned out- on top of it all, I didn't find it to be super flattering. I hope others have better luck than I did!

I wore this to a cocktail party at my law school and got a lot of compliments- it certainly stood out among the dresses everyone else was wearing! I've tried a lot of different Lilly Pulitzer dresses (both from RTR and otherwise) and know that the brand's sizing is not consistent- but I wear a 4 in pants and ordered the 4 dress and it was the correct size- phew! My only reason for not giving 5 stars is that the dress isn't the most slimming from all angles, and you can tell that its been worn before. Other than that, I was very satisfied with dress, and was happy that it ran true to size!

I loved this dress- I am a size Medium in the vast majority of clothing that I wear (36c bust, 27 inch/size 4 waist), and I am so, so glad that I read the reviews and suggestions and went down a size instead of up a size for my backup! Make sure that you do the same!! I loved the dress- it is not as gold as it looks in the photos- definitely more of a copper color. Additionally, the shoulders fell down a bit during the night. But all in all, it was great, and I received a lot of compliments! I would recommend renting!
