Someone tied the straps tightly enough that slippage was not an issue
I actually love how this dress looks! Unfortunately it does require some steaming as it is that type of crisp stiff cotton (poplin? Not sure) but I think it has some lovely design details and doesn’t require a bra. If you have long legs, I can see how the length might be awkward, but for a short legged person like me, the skirt is a nice midi length.

New favorite
I sized up to an 8 and it fit perfectly. I think this is a GREAT dress for anyone with a long torso and a relatively defined waist. On a short torso or very curvy body I don’t see this dress sitting well. The pockets didn’t bother me since they sat well below the hip for me, so they didn’t widen me appreciably. The side zip does get a bit stuck, but the fabric itself is soft, stretchy and comfortable. I went braless but would probably recommend some nipple covers, as the fabric is in no way thick enough to hide the fact if you happen to get cold :/ Basically if this dress fits well on your torso you will love it. And if it doesn’t I imagine it wouldn’t be flattering. On me, a very long torsoed hourglass without much hip or booty, I thought it looked great.

A bit too short and wide to be flattering
I think the reviews are largely right on this one. It’s not really flattering unless you love showing off your legs, and it’s very boxy despite the nipped waist. It’s one inch too short for security. It also does wrinkle easily. On the flip side, the cotton means it’s incredibly soft and comfy and light, and it has functionally deep pockets. Nice summery vibe paired with white sneakers. I think I’ll get good use out of it, but for running to the store situations, not taking the kids to the park situations where I have to be active, bend over, squat etc.

The secret to the straps if you have boobs
I could not get them to look right when I folded them down, but my engineer husband fixed this—he simply took the weird flap sticking out, smoothed it flat and tucked it behind the bust. Then it looked exactly like it did on the model. Surprisingly it didn’t seem to come out that easily, and I could probably safety pin it in place if I cared enough. Also pretty easy to retuck manually. Alternatively if you can’t be bothered to tuck in the flap, just pass the straps behind you and tie it in front instead. I agree that the skirt is a bit too full and long to be flattering on someone who is not tall or slim, but I still like the dress overall. Pockets are so, so clutch.

Seriously, size up
The denim is good quality but that also means NO stretch. Do yourself a favor and size up at least one size. I wish I’d gotten this in a 29, and i am usually a 27 in jeans due to having no ass lol.

Perfect for short legs
Oh my god, my legs are short no denim ever ever looks right on me, but these were PERFECT. Yes, the hem did flip so I did some ironing there, and yes, there is some stretch so if you are between sizes maybe consider sizing down, but overall these are a true blue, mid rise (the high rise is such a lie, just like the 28” inseam), super comfy every day wide legged (but not too crazy) jean and I am literally excited to wear them, which NEVER happens for denim. My short legged sisters, rejoice, for lo, the perfect pair of not-cropped-for-us jeans have arrived.

Needs steaming but a nice light layer
I like it! It isn’t that structured but it’s a lot nicer than a jean jacket and good for a cooler evening or layering. Does get wrinkly I think. Very breathable.

Sleeves are long and so is jacket but still nice
It’s not the lightest jacket, despite being linen it is most definitely more for a COOL spring day than summer—like if you want to wear a light sundress but it’s still a bit nippy out. That said I like the classic look and color, I just have to roll the sleeves twice because they are indeed very long for me. Petites may want to stay away. This would be great if you need something warm to wear as a spring wedding guest imo.

Consider sizing down
I was surprised that even the S felt so large on me; the waist was a little loose and the shoulders felt wide. Sleeves are always too long on my short arms but this time I think I might have been happier with an XS? I usually don’t like skin tight clothing but this dress would look nicer snug, I believe. Regardless this is a decent work dress that could also be worn with white sneakers for everyday.

The material is a good thickness for draping and the slit keeps it lively but seriously, I could pin on a communicator and go to a con in this XD otherwise an excellent fall dress.

Absolutely stunning on an hourglass
As a middle aged mother of two, there are not many times when I look at myself in the mirror and go, “Wow. I look hot.” Wearing this dress was one of them. It’s definitely a bit much for every day, and people are right when they say it compresses the chest (especially if you have a thick/big chest like me), but it really holds you in while dramatizing your curves. I sized up to 3 which was perfect for me, any larger and the waist would have been too big. The length went right down to my feet but didn’t drag. For the $22 I paid for it, this was an absolute steal.

Waist is VERY FITTED
I can see why people say this looks frumpy, as it buttons all the way up and has long sleeves and a slightly Victorian look (my husband said I looked like a schoolteacher in the Little House series) but it’s actually quite fitted! And warm, thanks to the inner layer. Definitely a winter dress, good for the holidays. I am a very classic six and the middle button over my waist puckered just a bit, which has never happened to me in a medium before! So if your waist is thicker, you may want to size up.

Classy
I wish it had a tiny bit more space in the chest (barrel ribcage plus nursing boobs means I need it) but overall I love that this is conservative and yet reasonably flattering. It’s very empire waisted, so pretty lengthening for those of us with short legs. I bought it for the pockets but I think this is a fantastic shoulder season dress. As I get older I need more clothes that aren’t cutesy or revealing, and this is perfect in that regard. Very capsule wardrobe-ish.

Guys, this is not the dress to show off your figure. This is the dress you wear if it’s 90 degrees or you’re so tired you want to wear pajamas out but can’t because you’re an adult. It’s INSANELY comfortable and airy. I could easily sleep in this thing. Just don’t expect it to cling to your curves or anything, haha.

I love this dress overall, but it’s definitely poofier than I expected. I think the shape overall is flattering despite the slight bunchiness below the empire waist (the dress is very fitted up top and very flowy past the bust), but it looks quite different on me than on the model, far curvier. Regardless, I still love it as it provides sun coverage, is cotton, has pockets, and looked like I tried. Wear the right bra though, as the V neck is a bit deep.

Pockets. Cotton. Some sleeve coverage but still breezy. Actually pretty flattering too, if you’re an hourglass or on the bustier side, with the waist tie and all. The slit was not an issue for me, as I have short legs. Did I mention pockets?? I am increasingly in favor of cotton machine washable dresses with pockets, now that I have a baby. This one even unbuttons for breastfeeding. It’s going to see a lot of use this summer…

With my D cup nursing boobs I am so glad I got the XL. It’s not skin tight at all but a comfortable tug over the head and the length isn’t scandalous but just shortish instead. Yes, the shoulders and arm openings ARE a bit wide but not entirely silly-looking and now the whole dress is more comfortable and a casual errand running outfit.

For me these got a bit loose in the waist. That means they’re comfy but will probably need a belt (I sized up one, post partum am usually 28 and got a 29. Might have been able to swing a 28, as my hips and butt are pretty small.) They are a fun casual Jean but the button fly is a bit annoying and stiff. Still, at this price point no regrets!

I can’t possibly have fit into a 25 in any stage of my life, let alone postpartum with ten extra pounds. I had to size up to a 29 in Levi’s. Yet these are actually the right size for me now, even though my ridiculously short legs mean they need to be hemmed about four inches to not be puddle jeans. Love the comfort but the sizing is so off!

I should have gotten the XS despite normally being more of a small. It looks like a witch costume on me :( a comfortable witch costume though! But it’s also a bit hard to think about where to wear this; it’s not exactly fancy but the length makes it not feel casual either!

I’d continue to wear this after pregnancy just because it’s so. Comfy. And. Easy. Like very throw on and go, though I have to admit I don’t think it would look quite right with sneakers..? But any black shoes or boots would do, really. Size down all you want, it’s huge!

This is a perfect maternity dress.
I have had better luck just buying non maternity dresses that have room in the stomach. At a size 6, this miraculously has space for my 35 week tummy—I just tie under the belly. (Now 5’5 and 145 with a massive tummy.) PSA: there IS a button and a thread loop to hold the bottom closed!! You will NOT FLASH anyone if you use the inside button!!! Thank goodness another reviewer mentioned this. I am curious to see how to size 6 will fit once I’m no longer hugely pregnant XD but it feels like an easy, classic style, forgiving for a post partum body!

Good quality knit with both tension and give
I actually feel awkward in bodycon stuff but my husband really liked the way the dress molded around my second trimester tummy. I won’t lie, not sure the S will work for third trimester for me (the fabric does have give but I don’t want to wear anything that feels tight), but it’ll likely be too warm to wear it by then anyway. This is a midweight dress, good for a cool spring day. I do love the aqua color! And the fact that the fabric hides underwear seams.

POCKETSSSS
God every dress should have pockets. Pockets that don’t bulge awkwardly, too. This is easily more chic than every single maternity dress I have seen and can fit a third trimester bump in with room to spare. The color is a bit more navy than I was expecting and the fabric a tiny bit stiffer (idk why I thought this would be silky?) but the cut is exactly what I wanted, extremely loose and roomy. I will happily wear this until the weather gets too hot and once I’m done with the eternal Jersey cotton nursing shirts.

I am not a huge fan of how most maternity dresses look. This is a perfect alternative and I can keep wearing it even once I’m no longer pregnant. This is thick enough to hang well but very airy, so will work in the summer, and not at all restrictive due to the loose shift cut. Was 124 and am now closer to 144 and it’s still got lots of room.

Yes, the front is indeed a bit short, but provided it’s not too windy it shouldn’t be too bad. At least, on my 5’5 body it’s not indecent. And for something so tent like it does kind of drape well; adding a belt only screws or up imo. But a black leather jacket and boots ought to help it transition to fall.

They’re not kidding about sizing up
I sized up to a six and honestly an eight would have been more comfortable in the bust and waist, but probably too poofy in the shoulders. My waist is NOT proportionately large for my body (though my ribcage is) and usually size 6 is quite baggy in the waist for me, so if you are in doubt, size up not one but two sizes. Otherwise a cute dress though will need steaming. If you are very curvy or top heavy I would just steer clear of this dress altogether as I just don’t think it’s designed for big boobs.

Wish I’d gotten the S!
Due to the fact that it has no padding and a very open back, this actually runs LOOSE. With my ribcage I am a pretty solid M in sports bras usually? But this is one case where an S would probably actually have fit better; you want the straps to be nice and flush against you. Not RTR’s fault; they suggested an S and they were totally right. Do not be afraid to size down. Tighter fit would have helped hide the nips a little too. Still, a very cute bra, but I do now need to hold the internal debate over whether I care if my nipples are showing :/

Band runs a bit tight
So I sized up to an L and while that made the bra really comfy, it does look a bit too large on me now to be cute. I think this bra is high quality and comfortable, but it’s not the cutest due to the basic design and having to size up. Had I worn an M, I think it would have looked nicer, but the band may have felt a bit tight! So ladies with larger chests or rinçages, just be aware that the bottom band will be the limiting factor.

Wow, everyone is right. Theory does run a bit small (I can often swing a 2 but even the 4 was tight in the chest. I have a huge ribcage, though.) Having absolutely no ass, the bottom half of the dress wasn’t tight, but it was short!! The lining did show when I sat but could be fixed with a tug. Not the most breathable material but I do love the pattern.
