Very flattering shape - wear strapless bra
Loved the dress. Very flattering shape because of the ruching. I have a longer torso so it worked well. The cutout was cute but not really a main feature. If I could do it over, I’d wear a strapless bra, because the left shoulder tended to slide wide and show my bra strap. (Someone fixed it before taking this picture).

Short torso
I wore up a size (to 10) to fit my lower body, but the torso was still short. It was either barely covering the chest, or hike it up as much as possible (not much) and be fairly uncomfortable in the inseam. If the torso had fit me better, it would have been great. Material was substantial and sequins were great.
