I rented this dress for a New Years Eve Party because it was recommended by RTR as well as other renters as a good dress for maternity wear. The torso part of the dress ends right on top of my bump, leaving a lot of room in the skirt for bump accommodation. It was pretty flattering on me. I ordered my pre-pregnancy size, and I think this still would have fit for another 2 weeks or so! I wore 3 inch heels (mid heel height) with this so that the back skirt wouldn't drag too much on the ground. The only thing I didn't think about was my bust. My bust has increased from a 36B to a 36C, and my boobs sometimes hurt a little bit throughout the night. I was wearing a 34B strapless bra, but the bust area itself was tight to begin with, but it wasn't intolerable.

This dress was very nice and light to put on! I wish there was a little bit of give at the waist, but there's a ton of space below so it oddly enough didn't feel too restrictive. When I did sit down, it was a little tight, but it wasn't unbearable. The dress is very long at the back, so I wearing 4.5" to 5" heels in absolutely required. The zipper in the back is VERY LONG. which is excellent given the tighter fit with the natural waist part of the dress. Because the waist was a tighter fit, to make my life easier, I put on the dress backwards, zipped it up, and then rotate the dress back and then put the clasp on it. The clasp in the back is notably big! So clipping that on is pretty easy. Overall a great rental and dress for the event.

Pros: What else can I say. The dress looks just as gorgeous as it does on Rent the Runway. It’s very well made, and the patterns are intricate and beautiful. It even has a little bit of beading as well, which you can’t really see from the photos there. It was very comfortable to wear the whole night, and feel like it does have a little bit of stretch to it. Not a lot, but enough when you sit down, move around, etc. If you want to stand out from the rest of the crowd, this is the dress for you. :) Cons: Not sure if “cons” is the appropriate term here, it’s more like “things to be aware of.” With that said, I am 5'4" and this dress was a tiny bit too long. Some other issues are that it's a little bit long, and I had to wear 4" heels with this one. The collar of it was also a little bit itchy due to the gold stitching. This was only a minor irritation though, and if I didn’t think about the itchiness, it did not bother me. B/C I wasn’t aware of this, my collar bone was a little bit red for a couple of days. This is definitely not a deal breaker though, just something to note when you wear this dress. Final Thoughts: Despite the concerns I have with this dress, I was extremely happy with my rental. It was exactly what I needed to ring in the New Year! It's pros definitely outweigh any other issues I had with the dress.

This was actually a backup size/dress from the Falling Roses Marchesa Notte gown. I was able to pick another dress due to complications with my back up size for the Falling Roses gown. Thankfully, both the size 4 Golden Garden dress and Size 2R Falling Roses gown both fit me. So I decided to wear this back up to another new years day party I was going to attend to later that day! I love it when dresses have pockets in them! I was able to put my phone in one of the pockets for the whole night, and it doesn’t add any extra bulk or excessive weight to the dress. The pockets are also great for your lipstick, or any other small light personal items you wish to carry with you outside of your purse. It’s quite light weight, and is really airy. The sweetheart neck line is great and matches with the dresses overall daintiness. The zipper on the back seems to be a little bit more industrial than I would like, but didn’t bother me for the most part when I leaned my back on chairs. You want to make sure that you wear a strapless bra with this! Despite the fact that the dress has straps, they will most likely not cover your bra straps.
