It does run a bit snug. I wear 4s and 6s, and this fit beautifully, though snug, in a 6. It is pretty tight in the shoulders and arms, though not uncomfortable, but movement is a bit limited there. Because the dress was not ready for shipment for my anniversary, though I'd ordered it months before, I decided to look it up online and bought it from a department store. Got here just in time, and it's probably the most beautiful dress I own now.

As others have noted, the dress is a gorgeous color and fabric. And as another customer said about her own impressions and experience, I really wanted to love this dress. Oddly, I do still love it, but had the same problems. The XS was too tight in the shoulders but was otherwise fine, except for the zipper. The S fit well enough, but again the zipper was just a nightmare of bunching more or less right between the shoulder blades. There was no way to get the zipper to lie flat with either size without having to fuss with the dress constantly. My husband thought it was a really lovely dress til I turned around and showed him the zipper. He said it was okay, if I didn't mind a bunchy zipper, and anyway I'd be sitting most of the evening. It's too bad. If I could buy this dress and have sections of it altered, I'd do it in a flash. Unfortunately, with the construction of the back zipper, it's a nuisance to wear beautifully or comfortably.

The dress is absolutely one of the most gorgeous gowns I've ever worn. So many compliments. I ordered the 42R and the 40L, and although they both fit, the 42R was more comfortable. As others have noted, the length can be a little difficult to get just right, depending on your shoes. The 42R was fine with a 2 & 1/2" heel (I'm 5' 4 & 1/2" tall), but just hit the top of the front of my shoes and I did sort of feel as if I had to tug it down a bit now and again along my hips and thighs to maintain the best length. If I'd worn a 3 inch heel (which is more typical for me), the regular would have been a tad short, I think. The 40L was actually a good length, and was easy to adjust for length, given the brilliant ruching of this dress. Will definitely rent this gown again, but may order the long. A note about undergarments. I always wear Spanx with dresses, but was surprised that I didn't need to with this dress, the fabric and composition are so fabulous. I wouldn't have worn a bra if I hadn't minded wearing the dress higher up my shoulders instead of lower, where I think it looks best. A bra isn't absolutely necessary, given the thickness of the fabric and the ruching, but because the bust section below the lace can get extremely close to the danger point of a nip slip. I wore a simple black strapless bra which was perfect and meant I didn't have to worry about it. The bust section did dip a bit, but nobody could have guessed or seen it. Trust me, nobody will know, and it enables you to wear the dress well off the shoulders which is the best look for this dress. Do yourself a favor and wear a simple, unadorned, strapless black bra.

Love this gown. I ordered both the 4R and the 2R. Because the 2R in the identical Badgley dress in dark blue fit perfectly but for a weird bulge at the waist in the back, I assumed the 2R in this gown would fit perfectly. But it was extremely tight. Too tight to breathe. The 4R fit exactly as the 2R in the blue, only, thankfully, without the bulge in the back. I'm 5'4" and with a 3 1/2 to 4" heel, the 4R was a perfect length for me, and I was able to dance comfortably. Really really gorgeous. My husband was wowed, and I received admiring glances and compliments all night. Will rent this again.

I'm giving this 5 stars even though I wore my backup dress, which is the identical dress, only in black (Belle of the Ball Gown). This is a gorgeous dress, and it fit perfectly except it bagged around the waist at the zipper in the back. Enough to make it appear as If I had a tennis ball stuck inside the dress. There really was no way to correct it without altering, and so I went with the black backup which was perfect, albeit in a size 4r, and which fit exactly as the 2R in the blue. Perhaps it's simply the dress has been stretched out of shape with a lot of use? Dunno. But a really beautiful gown.

Have rented another Leger dress that fit perfectly. The fit on this (a size S) was a little odd. Although I don't have short arms (in fact, I have somewhat long arms), the sleeves were far longer than they are on the model here, stretching halfway down my hands, and it was pretty long for me, reaching almost below the knee. And although a small typically fits in other dresses, the waist on this was extremely tight, making it extremely difficult to zip (the hips were fine). As noted elsewhere, the shoulders were weirdly roomy, and even with fashion tape, the top bagged a bit in the back. I suspect that if the waist weren't so difficult to zip, an XS would have worked better. On the other hand, people complimented me all night.

Because I can sometimes fit into a size 2, that was my backup. The dress has no give to speak of, though, and though the 2 fit, it would have been tight around the bum. The 4 was perfect. Gorgeous color, terrific fit. My husband didn't think much of the dress when I pointed out the photo with the model on the site here (frankly neither did I til I looked at the photos of women wearing the dress). It looks beautiful on everybody, on so many different body types. Once I was wearing the dress, my husband changed his tune, and said it was beautiful and that I looked beautiful in it. Although it's beautifully lined, you do need a bra, a low-cut bra, and for sure fashion tape placed at the shoulder and around the V. Easy to wear, beautiful for nearly anything. I'll be renting this again for sure.
