forgiving, flattering, but doesn't breathe (think: polyester) and different color than shown
very flattering--the material is thick and stays smooth, its like having on spanx w/o wearing spanx, but it's very thick and doesn't breathe at all. Not a good choice for outdoors or a place w/o AC. The top straps are really fun, but the top makes you look flat chested. I wasn't able to wear a bra. Color is much lighter, almost a periwinkle, which was a nice color, but not same as pictured. I wore an XS and I always wear a S or M. other reviews said to size down, glad I did. It's very stretchy and hugs. S looked too sloppy and loose. Not fitted enough. If you don't want form fitting, then your normal size might be okay.

tight in waist, big in bust, came torn
other reviewers commented their dresses came torn, and mine did as well -- don't order a lace dress from RTR. The tummy region is not my "trouble area" but holy cow was the stomach region TIGHT on this dress. The bust was quite large and I couldn't fill it out (large Bcup) and I couldn't wear any kind of bra to help with that bc of the cut. It bunches weirdly in the back. I also has photo troubles, the design can make you look like you have a big booty! Not recommended. I guess I'm in the minority that didnt like this dress. Also had troubles with it moving and the slip peaking out.

the cut was different, really made it stand out in a sea of black dresses
The bust was really tight and I don't have a big bust, so I had to go up a size. If you happen to have skin in your armpits-area, you might want to size up or it'll bulge there. I went a size up and it was more flattering.

if you're used to weightless earings, these might annoy you but they are gorgeous. I was able to wear them with every dress over a 3-day weekend. magenta dress, black dress, gold dress. It really classed everything up.

I loved this dress, it hugs the body well but it's skin tight. It's not terribly forgiving, so if you have any kind of pooche or love handle, it'll show. underwear are not an option. Get some pasties for your boobs, too! I really loved this dress. If you want it to be a little more forgiving, size up. I had dozens of compliments from women and men.

cute, but itchy, must wear spanx
Its a pretty dress, but very itchy. It also shows any detail, like a panty line (even thongs) so you'll want to wear spanx or a slip to smooth it out (or go commando). It'll also show any body imperfection. The dress is form fitted, so it will rock your curves, but while it does drape across the midsection, if you have any kind of pouch, it will probably stick out. Although this 40 was just right, the 42 was huge on me. The difference between size is not subtle!
