Perfect summer top

Shouldn’t have sized up
I sized up to a medium thinking it would’ve been right around the hips and that was a mistake. I definitely should’ve stuck with my usual size, maybe even down. There are shoulder pads and the shoulders and sleeves are GIANT. I didn’t wear this outside the house but worked fine on a Teams call.

Statement dress
I felt a little like an evil queen in her billowing cloak in the best way. It makes a statement but it’s also a black dress so you can have fun with it and style it in all the ways. Would rent again!

Could dress up or down! Button snaps are so solid, fabric is structured and holds well for this shape. Only minor con is that the armpit holes are kinda big and show some bras. Love and would rent again. Have my eye on it to buy eventually.

Great in hot weather
I usually have trouble with dresses this shape in the rib cage but this worked out great! Length was pretty good for petites and it didn’t kill me in Houston rodeo weather. Would rent again.

Would buy if I could!
I love this dress so much but the formal event count in my life is slowing down. Is it the most flattering? No. Is it gonna collect compliments all night? Hell yeah. Will you feel conscious about the open bar and dessert at the end of night? Sure won’t. You’ll need someone to tie you in tightly though. While it may feel like you could size down, don’t. The panels in the back need to overlap so you don’t get a tacky gap between sides.

Great straight pant
If the Levi's wedgie straights are still narrow on you, these are an awesome actually straight pant. Loved these so much, I ordered them on Madewell because they were on sale! Back seam is great for the straight shape.

STUNNING DRESS
I wish I could buy this dress and keep it forever. Had room to size down but the 2R was the only size available when I was picking sizes. Has pockets, falls to the ground well. Probably too long at my height but didn't care. Such a fun dress to wear around, dressed up or down!

Better while standing
I think I could've sized down to an XS and avoided all the issues I had. The fabric helps make the dress hang perfectly while standing but it gapped everywhere when I was sitting. The top was too loose and I had to keep adjusting it. There's an elastic section in the back that would keep it from getting too tight if I had an XS. Really comfortable even in the heat!

I wish I could justify spending $450 on this dress because I loved wearing it. It has no shape but the sleeves and construction of it felt like it was worth every penny. Light cotton dress perfect for warm weather. Will probably rent this again.

Comfy even in Texas heat
Wore this to a wedding in Marfa and was very comfortable! The smocked bodice part was tight enough to have room to eat/breathe/dance but didn't feel like it was shifting around too much. The lining goes all the way down which can kind of restrict how large your steps can be but overall not a problem. The color was more of lime green/yellow on black but came off as dark green from far away.

First strapless dress I didn't have to keep pulling up!
Shout out to the first reviewer of this dress. I rocked it as a full-length gown to a formal wedding as well and I loved it! My only gripe with it is that the sizing is a little inconsistent. It's TTS around the chest part but I would say the waist runs small. After eating, it was kinda hard to breathe. As a petite gal, the torso is a little long for me so it gapped a little around the cutout. Nothing a little double sided fashion tape can't fix though. I wore 2-some inch heels with it and it was the perfect length. The slit was awesome for dancing too!

Interesting in all the right places
Rented this for a black tie optional wedding in November. Such a comfortable dress and hugs in all the right places. I wore the petite length and it was still a couple inches too long with just a low heel (wore Steve Maden Irenee heels). I had a 0R as a backup size which would've fit better for size but also would've been too long. The extra inches didn't get in the way of dancing or walking but I had to be more mindful in crowds so the bottom didn't get stepped on. The slit on the leg is a showstopper and the cutout hit in just the right spot and was very flattering. The fabric does show a couple of lumps and bumps so I smoothed it out with Spanx. For the smaller chested ladies (me), I wore a strapless bra and taped the top of the cutout (the part that goes under your breasts) to keep any kind of breast or bra-related accidents from happening. Looking back, sticky boobs would've probably been a better idea. There's enough going on to make it not another-navy-formal-dress but comfortable enough to not fidget with it all night!.

Head turner!
I've been wanting to rent this dress for a while and when they ran the NYE promo, I jumped on it. PROS - the stunning print, the beautiful structure (so flattering!), incredibly comfortable AND it has pockets! CON - for shorter gals (5'2"), the length is really awkward. Too long to be tea length, too short to be a full length. I tried to tape the bottom up but the fabric is so heavy that it looked sloppy so I undid it. It was hard to take a flattering photo just standing there so I swung the dress around to make it work. Other than that, an incredible dress!
