My dress fit great. I'm only 5"6, and usually "long" anything is too long, but I'd recommend you get the long size in this dress, unless you're very petite. I wore 3 inch heels with this dress, and I wouldn't have minded if it was even longer. The fabric is thick and beautiful, and the dress fit me so well I didn't need to wear any spanx or nylons or anything. I did wear a strapless bra. I was comfortable in the dress all night! I am always in between sizes, because I'm a pear shape, either 10 or 12. But 10L was the way to go for me.
