very short
I'm only 5'3" and this dress fit well, but I couldn't raise my arms above my head without a peep show. I didn't end up wearing it. Very nice dress, and ideal for a younger person.

This dress is very simple, but very nice. The straps were a bit long for me at 5'3", but I tied them up and it worked great. Perfect for a Great Gatsby theme.

Very large and flamboyant.
This coat runs very large. I got an S and an XS and couldn't wear them because they were too big. I usually wear a S or M because I have broad shoulders and a wide ribcage. The coat would've been fine as a top layer--it's really meant as an outdoor jacket. I thought it looked more like a fun indoor/outdoor coat. No. I was completely swallowed up by the coat. It's hot, too. Very cute for the right occasion, but size down.

Very forgiving and flattering dress.
This dress is very comfortable. The slip underneath fits loosely, and the top is separate. It's fun and festive without being tight or revealing. Very easy to wear. you can wear a regular bra under it by snapping the straps into the vest/top. I loved the dress. It may run just a tad big.

Love RTR-didn't work at all!
This dress didn't work AT ALL for me. First, it was much longer than all other dresses of the same size that I tried--even dresses by the same designer that were supposed to be the same length. Second, it has a keyhole back, which is covered by a sheer capelet. You can see right through the sheer back, so you have to have undergarments that work with that. Or no bra. I'm really not sure. It looks beautiful and runs very large--I'm not a skinny girl and I felt like a complete frump in it. I love RTR and would love to see some of the floor length gowns in petite sizes (shorter, not smaller!)

Hard to make it work unless you're tall.
Beautiful dress that flows nicely. I got the S and the XS and oddly, the XS was larger than the S, so the S fit better. It runs large. My main reason for not wearing it was that the chest (boob) area flattened out like a horizontal accordian when I didn't stand up perfectly straight. It was very unflattering. I'm 5'3", wore easily a 4 1/2 inch platform and it was solidly touching the ground. I think my torso was too short. This would be stunning on a taller woman. PS. It is very sheer--even a nude undergarment shows through the top.

Too long, odd fit, but nice dress.
This is such a lovely dress, but it does have an odd fit. I sized up per the recommendations, and the underliner is small. The problem is that it is also very long. The size I got fit well underneath but was very large on the outside, and it just looked frumpy. Didn't wear it. Otherwise, it's a beautiful dress.

Runs small and doesn't look good on all body types.
This dress is a tricot like fabric, so it looks quite a bit more casual than I expected. As others have mentioned, pockets are awkward, but it runs small, so you end up with a puffy looking belly and creases at the hips...at least I did. I have a rather big butt and thighs, and not much waist, so it made me look like a top-heavy sausage. On a thin/straight build, it would look very mod and flattering.

This dress definitely runs large. It's a nice, structured dress with thick fabric. Generally, it's quiet flattering, though the bottom is a bit too structured, making it stick out like a Jetson's dress (as others have mentioned). It was a great last minute substitution for me. Thanks RTR!

Ethereal dress. Felt like a princess.
I received many compliments for this dress, including young girls who literally followed me around in awe. My only complaint is that the train/outer sheath is really too long to be practical. I'm around 5'3" or 5"4" and was wearing solid 4 inch heels with a platform and it was still dragging 3 to 4 inches on the ground. I had to walk carefully so as not to step on it, and dancing was out of the question. Too bad, since the dress was otherwise SO comfortable and flattering. I think I'm a true size 6, but the 4 fit with plenty of room.

This dress definitely is very long in the torso. It's a beautiful dress with a nice crinoline on the bottom, but as others have mentioned the straps are very long. If you're long-waisted, this might work, but not for me. I consider myself a true size 6, and the 6 was way too big for me. A 4 might have fit better.

Lots of tulle.
This dress is beautiful for what it is, but you have to be bold to wear it. I sized up according to recommendations, but the 8 didn't fit me at all (way too big). I wore another dress, but would've considered this if it had fit. The bodice is fairly short and there is LOTS of tulle. I think it could be toned down if you took the time to flatten each layer one at a time, but it will still be a dramatic dress.

I wore this for a company Christmas Party. It has a very vintage look--the fabric is fantastic and very classy. The keyhole back really makes it stand out. The waist is really more of an empire waist, but it was kind of in-between for me, which was not ideal. It flows beautifully and may be closer to sleeveless for you if you have broad shoulders like I do. I had both the 4 and the 6 and ended up wearing the 6, since the waist dropped a bit lower and hung better. The 4 was a bit restrictive in some areas. As usual, it was much longer on me than on the model--I'm 5'3" and it hit me mid-shin.

Beautiful for the right body type.
Which is not mine, apparently. I don't have the right shape of body for this dress. I wear a true 6 and couldn't really zip it up, but I have a very large ribcage and thick waist ("athletic"). The bodice is very short, in my opinion, so on me, it seemed like it was too low on my chest and the waist was higher than I wanted, with too much puffiness. The built-in ribbing in the bodice made for narrow allignment of the boobs. I had muffin top and armpit bulge at the same time. The dress itself is beautiful--it is navy with black brocade, though in a dark room it might look black. It was closer to ankle length on my without heels (in the front). If you're short-waisted and/or slim, it may work better for you than it did for me--the fabric is luxurious and elegant. I give it 4 out of 5 stars just because of the difficult proportions.If it had fit it would be a 5 for sure.

Out of this world.
This dress is divine. I rented it for a black-tie optional event and decided to go for the black-tie formality. The dress is simply radiant. I had many, many compliments throughout the night--the first was a stylish woman telling me that the dress was "jaw dropping". It's very comfortable and easy to dance in. It is QUITE long. I'm 5'3 to 5'4 and wore about a 4 to 5 inch heel with some platform. The dress brushed the ground, but I had to be careful not to step on it. I have a wide ribcage, and the dress fit like a glove with no wiggle room. Larger chests beware--if you have a wide ribcage and the big boobs, there will be a good deal of squishing.

This bracelet is a perfect accent for a vintage look. I have medium-sized wrists (not slender), and it hung nicely at the break of my wrist/hand with just the right amount of slack. It's very heavy and high quality.

The dress is very well made and comfortable. As mentioned by other reviewers, the keyhole at the front gaps a bit, but the garment tape does the trick. Very simple and fun dress. RTR is fantastic.
