I absolutely loved this dress!
I received TONS of compliments on this dress! I rented it for a "semi-formal, black tie optional" wedding in the Colorado mountains in February. The little sweater I wore with it was great to keep the chill off. PROS: plenty of room for a large bust (32G), well structured so I could skip a bra, hid the soft tummy that I'm so self-conscious about, was incredibly comfortable, and was easy to dance in! CONS: the seam around the chest is oddly tight. The 6 fit me perfectly, but the seam made it too uncomfortable to wear. The size 8 was a little loose up top....

I rented this dress last minute--I think I submitted the order on Monday night and the dress was delivered on Thursday! I didn't have a lot of dresses to choose from with such late notice, so this was already not my top choice. On the hangar, I didn't like it. I tried it on without zipping it up, and decided to wear my backup instead. Then my husband said he liked it! So I wore it ;) It's not that it was a bad or ugly dress, it just wasn't my favorite (I'd ordered the Pink Tartan Lucy Dress as my backup because I had rented it before and knew I loved it). Anyhow, the fit was actually very flattering and I appreciated the length of both the skirt and sleeves on a cool night on the Potomac River. There are shoulder pads in this dress (I haven't worn shoulder pads since I was a kid!), but they are really thin and aren't noticeable. I was able to wear my every-day undergarments; Spanx weren't necessary but I think I wore them anyway. If it's helpful to you: I wear size 4 WHBM jeans and 32G bra.

This dress was SO comfortable, fun, and flattering!
I could have worn the small, but I was more comfortable in the medium partly because my large chest. The full length picture is from a bad angle, and it was much more flattering in person! The dress is very well made, and the fabric is sturdy---soft but held its nice shape. The fabric is a little heavy, which was great for an August wedding in the mountains...but probably not great for an outdoor event in hot weather. Like other reviewers have stated, undergarments were pretty obvious, so I went without. No need for Spanx! I was able to wear my favorite every-day bra however. I danced for hours that evening, with not a single worry about the dress. I LOVE this dress. If RTR sells it in the future, I'm buying it without question. I even ordered it a second time as a backup a couple weeks ago! If it helps: I wear a size 4 in WHBM jeans, 32G bra.

Comfortable AND beautiful!
This was a gorgeous gown, and the material felt great against my skin. I'm kind of between sizes 6 and 8 (especially because of a 32G bust). I probably could have worn the 6, but it would have been awful tight across the chest. It was nice though that the chest was supportive enough to not need a bra! The only drawback was how LONG it was--even with heels (only 1.5" because I truly cannot walk in higher heals!) several inches of fabric dragged on the floor....which of course made me nervous because I knew I'd be returning the dress! The stylist I chatted with before renting led me to believe that there would be fashion tape in the package, and definitely said there would be directions for "shortening" the length, but neither were included. Being absolutely fashion deficient, I really needed directions at the very least ;) Next time I'll be a little more prepared. Overall, I was more than happy with my first RTR!
