I am a few months post-baby, and still between sizes, so I ordered a size down as a backup. Glad I did, because the 8 fit a little frumpy, where the 6 seemed to be much more flattering. Both sizes showed quite a bit of cleavage, so beware if you aren't comfortable with that! You can wear a regular bra, and the rest of the coverage is very modest. I was very comfortable throughout a cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing.,..but did catch myself wanting to pull and the neckline a few times to make sure I was covered. In person, the color looks black; however, it photographs more gold (due to the sequins). Definitely order a long length if you are over 5'6" and plan to wear heels.
