I knew this would either be amazing or not good. Unfortunately, it was not good. As a curvy girl, slip dresses need to fall a certain way and still give the impression of curves while not clinging too much. This just hung there. No impression of curves, though it seemed to accentuate my hips, and not in a flattering way. (And I don’t have much for hips usually, so that was new for me.) It was also a weird length—I’m 5’3”, and sometimes dressed like this work, but this ended just below the widest part of my calves, so really nothing about it was flattering.

I wish it wasn’t so low cut
Have you ever loved a dress so much that you just hoped all the other reviewers were lying and it would look perfect on you? That was me with this dress. But it is just too low cut. I even tried pinning it, and it still showed my bra. (And at 36G, I can’t go without a bra.) I tried all sorts of tricks, and nothing worked. I couldn’t even do a date night, because so much bra was showing. It is gorgeous on those with very small busts, and I’m jealous of each of them, but if you have a bust, this dress is not likely to be your friend, no matter how much you want it to be. (Also, it’s longer than I expected. I’m 5’3” and figured some 2-3” heels would be enough, but they weren’t. That wouldn’t have been a deal breaker, but it’s worth knowing.)

I wanted to love this. First, it didn’t have gold flecks. They were definitely copper. (That’s just an aside.) But I was hoping I could make it sit in a way that looked good, and I couldn’t. Funnily enough, when I took the photo, I did a double take because the photo looks way better than it did in person. I think if you are taller and thinner, this could be great, but it did nothing for this short, curvy girl. And also, the bottom looks like it could be sheer in photos, but not in real life.

I was hoping this would magically look good on me. It did not. The material was lightweight but not very soft, so it wrinkled easily. And just nothing about it was flattering. I have a larger chest, and maybe if the neck had been tied, where I could adjust it, it could have been better. But just nothing about this was flattering on this short, curvy girl.

Absolutely stunning
I had wanted to rent this for a while but it was never available. Finally the medium became available, and while a large would have been better, I got it anyway. I felt spectacular in this dress. It is so unique, and I got compliments left and right with it. As a shorter girl (5’3”), I had to wear 3” heels and the bottom scarf still skimmed the floor, but I just loved it. It’s made of a thicker material, so it helps give some shape. This is me wearing it without Spanx, but I felt like it held things in okay. I got stopped by so many people, and a random woman on the sidewalk actually caught up to me just to ask about it. I could never afford to purchase this, but I would absolutely rent again. (Ideally next time in my size!)

I liked it so much that I bought it!
I bought this for a vacation, but once I put it on and saw how flattering it was, I knew I’d want to wear it again. It happened to go on sale for $47, so I bought it and hemmed it, and I’m just thrilled with it. The colors are great. The style is flattering. It’s just a fun dress!

A happy, flirty dress
I bought this for a wedding brunch, but I’ve worn it to work and on a date since then. This is just a classy dress that looks great. It’s super flattering, so if you’re trying to hide your stomach, this dress is your friend! I’m 5’3” and thought the length was perfect. I could wear it around family and at work and feel appropriate, but also on a date and feel flirty. It’s just a truly lovely dress!

OBSESSED!!!
To start with: I ordered this in a 10, and a 12 would have been perfection. (I’m a 10 or 12, but lean 12 on RTR.) That said, the second I put it on, I was in love. I felt like a million bucks! The color is a tomato red, the sleeves are perfecting for hiding the upper arm area. I got compliments the ENTIRE day, including multiple people asking the designer (which I’ve never been asked!). As an aside, we ordered my husband a GUSLESON tie on Amazon and it was a perfect match—similar colors without being too matchy matchy. I almost didn’t rent this, because this isn’t my usual style and it is a bit outside my comfort zone, but as my husband pointed out: it’s Rent the Runway, not Rent What You Usually Wear. If you’re thinking about it, definitely try!!

I don’t know if this has just been washed too many times, but this wasn’t white. It was a tray-white. So that just made everything look drab. The fit was fine, but t just looked like it had been washed way too many times and had lost that brightness I was looking for.

Lovely, but older
I just turned 40, so maybe I’m having a midlife crisis or something, but when I put this on, the first thought that came to mind was matronly. It’s a lovely dress, and it was flattering. It just seemed like it was meant for a more mature woman. (Like a mother of the bride dress.) I had planned to wear it to Easter, and it would’ve been fine, but I’m not using RTR for “fine.”

Not great for large chests
I am a 34G, and my boobs aren’t perky. I was hoping this would look fine with a strapless, and it looked okay, but the cut of the halter just made my entire chest look like it was sagging. The only way I can think to describe it is that a normal halter goes from wide to thin. This goes from the neck to thin to wide, and that just seemed to drag everything down. I had been so hopeful, but it just didn’t work for me.

I’m 5’3”, and I was hoping to wear this on vacation. Now, if I was 25 years old or vacationing out of the country, it may have worked, but I’m 40 and was going to a family reunion weekend, so I wouldn’t have felt comfortable in this.

Definitely for warmer weather
For some reason, I thought this was lighter weight. I wanted to wear it to work in April in Minnesota, and this would’ve been much better for winter. Also, it was just kind of big. Not in any specific place. Just in general. I have rented from her before and loved the dresses. This just wasn’t for me.

Really difficult for large busts
I had been looking at this for a while and saw other short, curvy girls wear it, so I was really hopeful. The color is beautiful, as is the craftmanship. However, I am a 36E, so I would need a serious bra to boost the girls. I tried it with my regular strapless bra, but it didn't do anything. The only way I can describe it is that because it curves in so far between the chest and the neck, it just made my boobs look like they were hanging. I even tried it with a good lifting bra, just to see, and still, the narrower cut at the top just made it look like everything was dragging. I wish I had taken a photo, but it just didn't work for me.

Didn't wear - not for a short, curvy girl
Again, I saw photos of other short, curvy girls wearing it, and it looked great. But for me, it was just too much material, and too long. I'm 5'3", and this pretty much went to the floor. I tried it with heels, and it was okay, but not great. I sent it back (having forgotten to take a photo).

Too much material for a short curvy girl (did not wear)
I was so hopeful, because it looked amazing on some of the other women who are also short and curvy, but for me, it was just too much material. I do better with clothes that can move with me, and this really didn't. I wish I had taken a photo, but if you prefer clothes that move, this isn't the one.

I desperately wanted to love this. Alas, there is just no support for busty girls. (I'm a 36e.) I'm either a 12 or 14, and I got this in a 12. It was a tiny bit snug when zipping, but otherwise fine. It just wasn't flattering. And, at 5'3", it came to a weird place on my calves. Beautiful dress. Just not for curvy/busty girls.

I absolutely LOVED this dress. I wish I would have gotten a better photo than a windy beach. The color was great. The fit was lovely. I really loved this dress. I was worried it’d look bad, since I’m fair, but the softer brown zebra stripes (as opposed to black) looked great! I wore it a couple times, and each time I put it on, I felt great!

I couldn't decide if I liked it
This was a weird length for me. I'm 5'3", and I thought it would be floor-length. It wasn't. It was to just above my ankles. It was just weird. I also would have needed to wear a tank underneath, and I don't have the right blue (white wouldn't work well). I really liked the material and the sleeve length, but the rest was just a bit...off.

A bit overwhelming for 5'3"
I'm not small. I'm a 12/14 with a 36E chest. I'm also short (5'3"). This dress just completely overwhelmed me in every way. Too long, too big, too everything. (And by too long, I mean it stopped at the widest part of my calves which was really not flattering.)

Not for ladies with tummies!
I am a 36E and most dresses are too small in the chest. That said, I also have a belly. (Like a 360 degree hourglass.) This fit in the chest but was super tight in the stomach. Had I gone up a size, it may have worked, but I'm worried it would've been too big on top. I just didn't feel comfortable wearing it out.

Too small even for a photo
I'm a curvy 12, so sometimes fit a 12, sometimes a 14. This dress came in a 12, and I couldn't even get it all the way on to take a photo. I was also really surprised how short the under part is. I'm 5'3", so figured it'd be a bit longer on me, but nope. Even if I had been able to zip this up, the under part would've been too small. I had considered wearing a black slip under it to make it a bit longer, but wasn't able to test that theory. Honestly, I would've gone at least 2 sizes up with this, and it still was just too short. Beautiful embroidery, but not great for the curvy ladies.

Even better than I imagined!
I can't believe I didn't get a full-body photo in this! I ordered this as a backup for a wedding, but my other dress was too small. I'm a curvy 12, so can fluctuate between 12 and 14. A 12 probably would've been perfect, but I absolutely LOVED this anyway. I got so many compliments, and I loved that it wasn't tight at all. I wore a strapless bra underneath, and the only thing was, because it was a little big, I kind of tucked the dress into the bra a bit so it wouldn't show on the side. The color is spectacular. Not quite bright, not quite dark. And I was worried about the length, since I'm short and it could end in that awkward place, but it didn't. I seriously got more compliments on this dress than just about anything else I've worn from RTR, and I think because it wasn't super tight or fitted, I felt more comfortable too. (Often dresses that are more loose make me look bigger, so I usually stick to more tailored looks.) Seriously, ladies: rent this dress!! You won't regret it!!

I have wanted to order this dress for the longest time. I finally did for a wedding, but due to a mix-up, the backup size (which was a 14), wasn't available when my order was placed. I'm a Covid 12, meaning I was a 12 before Covid and am not quite willing to acknowledge that I gained a bit of weight. I am shorter, curvy, and have a large chest and stomach. My husband was able to squeeze me into the 12. Shockingly, even though it was tight, it didn't feel like I was unable to breathe. But I knew it was tight, and I didn't want to wear a tight dress all night. I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't really long, because it looks like a perfect length on the model, so that usually means it'll end at the worst spot on my shins as possible, but it really was a good length. And the material was obviously good quality. I don't think I would've worn a bra with this, which is shocking for a large chest, but assuming it was the correct size, it honestly seemed to support the ladies. I wish this would have worked, and I'll definitely try again. Short, curvy ladies with large busts: get this dress! (Just be sure to order a size up!)

Not amazing for shorter girls with curves
I ordered this as a backup dress for a wedding. (To be fair, my husband liked it more than me, but I figured I'd give it a try.) I have a large chest (36E), and am usually a curvy 12, so sometimes a 12, sometimes a 14. Because I'm only 5'3", this really emphasized how short my torso is. Also, I think it could've been better, but because of the uneven bottom, it just looks like I was trying to be a fairy princess or something. It was very whimsical and would be amazing for a Renaissance Fair or something, but just not quite right for a wedding. I didn't want to waste it, though, so I wore it to my book club, and my aunt wore the backup. She had a double mastectomy, so in her opinion, the top was a bit loose in the chest. :) She's normally a 10 and the 12 fit her.

Beautiful and forgiving. A great dress for a formal wedding!
I wore this to a black tie wedding, and I felt amazing. I'm curvy (and not always in a great way), so was worried that all of the detail in this would just accentuate the wobbly bits, but it didn't. It looked beautiful on, and I just kept getting compliments all night! I'm 5'3", and it went just below my knee. I was able to wear a normal bra because of all the details happening. This was yet another hit, and when you're going to a wedding with lots of glamorous people, it was nice to have something I felt great in.

This was amazing. I was worried, since I'm only 5'3", that it would make me look even shorter, with the high waist and the hi-lo nature of it, but oh my gosh, it was amazing. I felt sexy in it, it had thicker material which was incredibly forgiving, and I just felt amazing. Honestly--any 12/14 girls out their with large chests who want to feel pretty and not like a stuffed sausage, give this a try. (Well, any size girl can likely rock it. I was just very nervous, and was thrilled with it.)
