Wore this to a 40th birthday bash with a glam dress code. Most folks defaulted to sequins and was thrilled to show up in this cutie. I would suggest getting on the more fitted side so the fit of the dress is accentuated.

Chest measurement is 29 inches on the large. I have a big bust, and 24-26 inches is typically what I look for in an oversized fit. I would suggest sizing down in this style.

MEASUREMENTS!
Because of the lacing detail on the back, the top of this dress is very adaptable. The most restrictive measurement is the waist, which has no give: XL waist is 17.5" across, the L waist is 16". Currently I'm a 44-32-44 with a DDD chest and the L fit best in both the waist and chest area. I'm 5'6" and wore just a 1.5 inch block heel and the length was perfect (I have a high waist and long torso). Only area of caution is the leg slit can creep up and I was showing a little too much thigh at some points in the dinner. Truly, this dress looks good on everyone. Give 'er a go!

cute and customizable
The back tie makes it fairly forgiving. The elastic in the low back was loose, but I don't think I could have sized down without giving up more coverage up front. Lots of side boob but felt secure in it without a bra--a small (large?) miracle. The gingham-adjacent pattern is a welcome change from the florals you typically find in this style of tiered apron dress.
