my first time in yellow!

I got this for a wedding with an outdoor ceremony. it was great! a bit low cut, but I needed it to be easy boob access for my nursing baby. if I'd had a safety pin, that would have taken care of any kind of issue. I still wore a normal bra with it, but was just checking myself the whole time. great color and print!

pretty good!

I've always wanted to wear a gown, but haven't had a lot of justification... then my cousin got married in a fancy ceremony, so there was my excuse. This was a last minute pick due to another dress being unavailable. It was pretty low cut. I'm not gifted at special undergarments or using tape to fix myself, so it looked kind of funny, but I needed something low cut because I was nursing still and needed easy boob access. I wore sticky petals and had no problems... just looked somewhat unsupported. Such a pretty, rich blue, too.

This dress is awesome!

I rented the M and L, since i'm 6 months postpartum and so body is still fluctuating. The L fit my hips a lot better than the M, which was a little tighter, so i'm glad i ordered it. This dress feels FABULOUS on. The fabric is a little thicker, but I don't think that it's too heavy, at least not in air conditioning. I like the little bit of gathered panel in the front, as it hides any kind of potential pooch you might have (or it just allows you to eat without worrying you'll look like you have a food baby!).

fun dress!

i rented this dress for my company holiday party at 28 weeks pregnant. i rented the M and L. i thought maybe the M would still work (the size i'd wear pre-pregnancy), due to the drape of the dress. NOPE. it was SO SHORT. back to the closet to get the L! i think i had two generations of the dress, because the fabric was slightly different from the M and the L, but it's still nice, heavy jersey. the L fit fairly well. there is a liner inside that ended up barely skimming my butt... hopefully that's just a factor of my bump taking up space. a little shorter than i was anticipating, but that is also probably due to the bump. overall, i'd recommend it, especially if you're pregnant and feel comfortable showing off your legs :)

super fun necklace!

i ended up renting this necklace because my original choice was sadly damaged beyond repair. this necklace was an awesome replacement, though! it's very heavy (hence the four star review vs. five), so it took a bit of time for me to get used to it, but after a while i didn't notice the weight. it's VERY sparkly, and i got lots of compliments on my bling, especially since i don't usually wear any! it's a great choice.

pretty good

i have broad shoulders and was slightly concerned about the arms fitting, so i went a size up. fortunately, they fit, although they were a bit tight. i'm not accustomed to shift dresses, so the fit was different for me and sitting had a tendency to make it ride up, but the color was beautiful and overall it was a very interesting dress.

really nice, but a bit loose!

i rented this for my cousin's wedding. i'm always a bit nervous about wearing jersey, just because it's fairly unforgiving and you can see everything, but it wasa good fabric weight and double layered on the bottom, which was fantastic! it was also nicely draped, so everything was hidden. i definitely second (or third, or fourth) the idea that fashion tape is necessary, since the top runs kind of large. other people reviewed it as running large, and i ordered one size smaller, but it was mostly just the top that was too large for me. several times i caught the front gaping open. thankfully my bra was also dark blue, so it wasn't totally obvious. that's really the only reason i am subtracting a star. otherwise, this was fantastically comfortable and i'd definitely rent it again!

beautiful, but...

i rented this dress for a conservative catholic wedding. unfortunately, i won't be wearing it and have returned it. it is a beautiful fabric and print, but it's very thin, and has a TINY bit of stretch (but i think this is a characteristic of good silk anyway). the bottom hem is VERY narrow. i don't think that it's a very good fit for girls with larger hips and an hourglass figure. I didn't feel comfortable attempting to zip up the 6, and i was unable to get the hem over my hips in the 8 (they're not abnormally large, either), so i had to awkwardly step in through the zippered area, shimmy it up as high around my hips as i could, and duck my head in. when i zipped it up, it was great! true to size, comfortable... i was worried about sitting down, but somehow the cut worked. it's very forgiving in the midsection due to the off-center gather, and would definitely hide any potential little pooch you might have. however, seeing as i was unable to get it over my hips, i wouldn't have been able to go to the bathroom without taking the entire dress off in the awkward fashion it went on. overall, gorgeous silk dress, but, unless you're planning to not hit the bathroom after you've put it on, not practical for curvy or hourglass figures, in my opinion.

totally awesome

wore this for my cousin's super swanky wedding (harvard club NYC) with nude heels... perfect. i got a ton of compliments and someone came and asked me where i got the dress (naturally i referred them here!). it was really comfortable. the cotton lace does have a fair amount of stretch, and i think i might have been able to wear a 4. because it was a bit big, the lace bunched a bit around the waist, but you could hardly tell, since it was all black. surprisingly, it was fairly cool, too... we had to run a couple blocks and half an avenue to get to the venue because the cab got stuck in traffic, and i wasn't burning up afterwards, which was a concern before we started running!

awesome

i rented this dress for an office christmas party. i was initially uncomfortable with how much it hugged my curves, but that's because i'm relatively conservative and usually stick with a-line dresses. in any case, my husband LOVED it, and it was perfect for the occasion! the length hit me right around where it hit the model, and if it didn't, then you could probably pull it up to make it the length you want. it also was a good amount of coverage and even stayed in place while i played rock band. because of the hook and eye details (which one girl thought was FABULOUS!), i got caught on a sweater or two, and even myself once... talk about awkward. but it was worth it. this was my first experience with RTR and i'll for sure be renting again. my only customer service issue is that i packed my dress into the return envelope, thinking everything was fine, and THEN i got an email saying to wrap them in plastic. so i just cut the envelope open and then duct taped it back together :) it would have been nice to know beforehand, though.
