The dress was surprising lightweight for a dress with this much lace. I chose the 2R to wear based on the reviews that considered my height and the 4.5 in heels I wore with this dress. I don't know if I would say this dress is true to size or runs large as I typically wear dress sizes 2-6 depending on the designer. The dress is a beautiful navy blue and was perfect for the black tie optional, fall wedding that I attended in Washington DC. This dress hugs in all the right places (gave me the illusion that I was curvier and slimmer than I typically am) and was comfortable to wear and dance in all night. I paired the dress with statement earrings and a bracelet from RTR as well. The only thing that annoyed me was that my heels would get caught in the lace a few times. I was bummed that my original dress I was planning on wearing was damaged before the event but thankfully RTR came through by giving me the option of renting this dress as a result. While I didn't get many comments at the wedding, I did get a lot of positive responses on my social media accounts of me wearing this dress.

Looking chic and shining bright

First off, props to RTR for overnighting this dress to me after I decided to make a change for a more formal style dress. I decided to rent both a 2 and a 4 based on the reviews for this dress. I went with the size 4 for the wedding I went to because the top of the size 2 was too small for my body since I couldn't zip it up all the way. I liked how the size 2 fit around my waist down but unfortunately I could not zip it up. As mentioned, the fabric is not metallic and is beautifully crafted with gold sequences. The dress photos especially well under particular lighting and the use of an SLR camera. I feel the dress most resembles the left side of my photo. I didn't mind the feel of the sequence but but the end of the night my skin felt itchy. Also the lining does peek out of the dress which can be annoying but I put fabric tape to keep it in place and it worked! I was afraid of the sequences coming off the dress but everything seemed to stay in place. The zipper was also still tricky to pull up on the size 4 but I managed to pull it up easier than the size 2. I would also suggesdt wearing a sticky, one sided bra because my strapless and regular bra showed through the cutouts. Beautiful dress just wish it felt more comfortable to wear on for the whole night.

So Chic

I chose the small for the one I wore, and I chose the medium for my backup. Both the small and the medium fitted nicely but I chose the small over the medium because the medium was a bit worn down looking--the color was slightly dull and the paint on the zipper was coming off on the medium. I decided to wear this for a beach wedding in the spring time. The fabric was thick and sturdy to the touch. I decided to wear a backless sticky bra because the back was too low for me to wear any of the strapless bras I had. I didn't have any problems with moving around in the dress, but I felt the chest portion slid up a little making the front look slightly off. What I loved most about this dress is that it gave me the appearance that I was curvier than I normally am.
