Long-waisted ladies beware
I loved the color, the sparkle, and the length (5’7” and hit right where my ankle meets my foot—perfect for dancing). The medium was perfect in the skirt, if a little roomy. But the top? I kept fiddling with it to see if I was missing something, but it was WAY too small. Specifically, one wrong move and the underboob would pop out. I’m both long-waisted and broad shouldered, so it was too short in the chest and arm. I think sizing up would have drowned me. If you’re more balanced or shorter in the torso, give this a shot! I especially loved how delicate and lightweight the fabric was.

Stunning! The top was a little baggy, and if I rent it in the future I may size down—there’s stretch, but not too much. I’d say get your true size (unfortunately for me I’m always between sizes). I admitted I couldn’t get away with velvet in Mexico, so I sent it back. But if I get invited to any holiday shindigs, I’ll rent it again for sure!

Nope, just nope.
Ugh I wanted this to work so badly, but it felt completely misshapen on my body. It was somehow too tight and too loose in the same spots—e.g. my hips were too wide, but I had extra fabric in the tummy area. The halter was a mess too. I think the color is gorgeous and it’s a thicker fabric than I expected. Just didn’t work for me.

Gorgeous side profile — no waist definition
Didn’t get a picture from the side, but that’s the best angle of this dress (notice how the promo photos are mostly from the side?). It’s a lovely color and very comfortable, natural fabric. It was so close to perfect, but I felt like the front view made me look waaaay wider than I actually am, and there’s no waist definition. I went with another option for myself, but I think if you’re petite and need a dress for warm weather, this is the one for you.
