Supremely comfy, perfectly dressed-down+dressed-up
I wore this for a choir performance with opaque black tights and flats with a big statement gold necklace and hair up in braids. The satin sash gives the piece the formality that lets you get away with essentially wearing shorts in a formal context! The neckline is very plunging. I wore with a black satin camisole for modesty's sake.

The sleeves on this dress deliver a real wow factor that people go nuts for
As a pear with a small chest, I rented a 6, and the dress was far too large for me on the top, I had to use a sash to create a waist to make the top look deliberately billowy. The condition of the beading on the arms showed considerable wear and tear - from a distance no one can tell at least.

A great dress for choral performance
Super-comfortable, feels light.People were wowed. Some musicians also seemed to think it would make a good orchestra dress too, although the slit could be problematic,depending on where seated.Fit true to size. The shoulder/sleeve design was a perfect balance for pear hips, and the fabric is so loose and fluid it did not cling on the hips. At 5'8, I was wearing 1.5 inch wedge, would go better with 2+. Had to pick up dress to avoid tripping.

Sexy and Impactful
I got a lot of 'wow's when wearing this dress to host a cocktail party. The clever combination of the flesh-colored control under-dress peeking through the clingy lace dress is both 100% 'appropriate' and slightly cheeky at the same time. This dress sucked everything in and did wonders for my figure. I was very comfortable for several hours (I was standing throughout). Loved how sexy this was with fully covered arms. As a pear shape, I did actually find myself wearing the undergarment from the M size dress with the S over dress.

Flattering, elegant and very comfortable - the perfect canvas for vintage jewels.
I wore this for a choir performance, where I needed to be completely covered, all in black. I used it as a backdrop for some stunning vintage earrings and shoulder pins, with hair swept up to show them off. People went nuts over me in this dress. Someone described me as 'Madame X' from John Singer-Sargent's painting (despite being fully covered!). Another comment was 'patrician elegance'. The dress was also supremely comfortable and flattering, no need for extra slimming undergarments. The shoulders and hips are balanced out in this dress, so as a pear, I appreciated the compensation at the shoulder.

Conversation stopper!
This dress was the talk of the wedding I attended. People went crazy for it, saying I looked like a red carpet star. It definitely required technical underwear to do it justice: hidden bra (to make sure no showing straps and spanx to let the fabric cling but hang evenly. As a pear-shape, I have never worn anything long and clingy, but the broadening design of the shoulder creates wonderful symmetry with one's hips, if you wear a good bra. This dress on me reached the ankle, not the floor, which worked for the vintage 30s look I was going for with mary-jane strapped shoes and 1930s hair-do.

Beautiful colors, hips tricky
I've rented this dress twice. The first time, the dress fitted beautifully and was stunning to wear to the office with black opaque tights. The second time, maybe a year later, my hips were slightly larger and the fabric, albeit loose and flighty did not sit well on them and splayed out too broadly.

How to Look Like Old Money
I wore this dress to a magazine fundraiser dinner. In order to fit my hips, I wore a size that came down far lower on the leg than depicted in the model shot. The hairdo I had with it and the jewellery I wore made me look like one of those very rich women in their 60s and 70s who practically live at fundraisers. I enjoyed looking expensive, but I didn't like how this dress aged me by 20 years.
