I chose to wear the 4 because I wanted a looser fit. It was still fitted (not tight) through the hips and chest but not tight around midsection. Length was appropriate on me, and I have really long legs and a shorter torso.

I am typically between a 2 and 4 because I am taller. The bust was a perfect size (I'm small through the bust) and the hips and trunk length were well proportioned too. A 4 would have been huge on me- might work for someone with larger hips.
