It's bigger than I thought!
It's larger than I thought it would be, but it is giving the matilda djerf moment I was look for. The only main con is that the flaps in the front are sewn to come together -- like it's not built to be able to see the shirt underneath, it's built to be buttoned up. The fabric is super interesting, though.

don't be fooled by the photos
these are the strangest shorts I have ever put on my body. They fit great in the waist. Super cute. But once you get below the hips ... who designed this?! SO WEIRD. They balloon out with these weird flaps that look like they need to be hemmed. Guys....don't be silly like me and love the look on the photos. These aren't your normal jorts.

OMG WAY TOO BIG
Like .... it fits like a long dress. Super terribly big and I got a SMALL. Not even in a matilda djerf type way. I would recommend sizing down like two sizes or just skipping this all together. I'm hesitant to wear it out tbh because I feel like a clown.

Flattering on anyone
Wore this to a board meeting -- super cute. I was scared that the 40 was going to be too tight in the bust, but it wasn't! If anything, your normal size will fit a little oversized. It runs a little tiny smidgen bit big.
