Effortlessly elegant
I wore this dress several times - to my birthday party, to work, and to a museum - and loved it. It is effortlessly elegant, and creates a lovely line, despite the dropped waist. I sized up because I would rather the dress be too big than too small, but could have worn my usual size.

Gorgeous, but kept falling out of my ears
I loved these earrings, but they kept falling out of my ears while I'm was wearing them - three times when I was walking down the street. On the third time they fell out, I couldn't retrieve the back of them. Beautiful earrings, but there's something off about the way that they attached.

Beautiful pattern, strange cut
I love, love, LOVED the unique print on this dress. But I did NOT love the way it sat on my body. There were some weird seems around the bust that made it sit funny, and the dress was both close fitting and voluminous at the same time. Pity, because the pattern is so nice. It was nice enough to wear outside, but ultimately a one-and-done for me.

This is such a gorgeous, unique dress, but it is utterly unforgiving. The material was so clingy that I could see my belly button through it. Like walking into a party naked, only less flattering.

Gorgeous skirt, but elastic is tricky
I liked this skirt so much when I first tried it on that I was tempted to buy it. After wearing it a couple of times though, I found myself growing annoyed with the way that elastic would twist inside the material throughout the day. Maybe I should have sized down, but it downgraded the skirt from a potential buy to a nice short-term rental for me.

Classy and relaxed

Very structured, no give
This top is high fashion, very structured, and very true to size. Maybe even runs a little small. The sleeves are more voluminous than in the pic, but the top itself has no stretch. This is fine, but don't size down!

Odd dimensions
I'm only 5'7", and not sure how I'd get the straps over my shoulders because the waist was so short: the dimensions on this jumpsuit were very "off" for me. I see women my height and taller have worn it successfully, but it didn't work for me at all.

Beautiful... and voluminous
I couldn't decide if this dress was stunning, or if it made me look 4 months pregnant. Maybe both? The fabric is incredible, in terms of both appearance and feel, and the dress is beautiful. But it also made me feel pretty frumpy when I wore it. So while I loved it on first sight, I was happy to send it back after 2 wears.

Not suitable for everyday wear
Material far thicker and stiffer than I expected. I rented it as a dramatic summer maxi, to add a bit of glamour to my work wardrobe, but the dress is really only suitable for black tie/formal occasions. It also runs tight through the hips, so better for more petite or sporty/athletic shapes.

This dress runs a little small: I was probably more of an 8 than a 10 when this photo was taken, and it was still tight in the bust and waist though. A beautiful, unique print though that was perfect for my event!

Works better with something under it
Like a lot of derek lam items, this dress runs large. I wore it to a couple of events and friends urged me to buy it, but I found it only worked on me when I wore something dark and long sleeved under it. When I wore it alone, the neckline fell too low and the waist line disappeared.

Beautiful dress, quality material
This dress runs true to size (maybe a little large). Top part of the dress is stretchy and the waist down is flowy and loose. The ribbons at the back of the shoulders are beautiful and overall quality of garment is very high - it felt lovely against my skin.
