I picked the small because I wanted a fitted look to go with work clothes but it's a bit cropped on me. The medium would probably have been better.

Believe the reviews. the shoulder pads don't work
The dress did fit but I didn't wear it. Perhaps if it were a little bigger, the shoulder pads would have had more space to spread. I don't actually mind shoulder pads they just didn't fit inside this dress so they bunched up on each shoulder.
