I love this dress. The print is gorgeous, and the fabric is a smooth knit material that has just the right balance of structure and stretch. I was fine on a breezy summer evening, but it might be a little hot once temps get into the 90s. The only thing is that it runs really big! I knew this going in from other reviews, so I purposely erred for the smaller size (I'm between a 4 and a 6), but I could still grab about an inch or two of excess fabric around my waist. This is just the top I needed; I own a knee-length floral skirt and always had trouble finding the right top to pair with it - and I think this is the one! I also paired it with RTR's TY-LR Striped Romano skirt on a different occasion. I do think in general this top should be worn with a statement necklace (which I forgot to do in the photo), as the neckline is pretty simple and some embelishment would help keep your top half from looking like a black box. The quality of the fabric is GREAT, feels so satiny and rich, and doesn't wrinkle easily. Like other reviews mentioned, the zipper goes all the way down the back so you don't have to worry about trying to slip it on over your head. Very convenient. The crop top is not too short so it wouldn't show much midriff unless you wore it with low-waisted pants or etc. If you have wide shoulders (like me), the sizing may get a little tricky. I normally wear 4-6 in tops and the 6 just barely fit my shoulders, but I wouldn't have minded it being a bit smaller everywhere else. I rented this dress for an outdoor ballroom dance party, and paired it with RTR's Shoshanna Jasmine top. Pros: weight of the fabric makes it feel high-quality, cool black-and-white design, full skirt looks great when you twirl! Cons: The fabric wasn't satin like I thought it was, but rather this rough drape-like(?) material that was less shiny. I thought that made the black-and-white look less stark and took away from the contrast of the stripes a bit. Despite being thick, the fabric also had deep wrinkles that were very hard to iron out. Finally, although the weight of the fabric is a pro in some ways, it made the skirt sag and it sat much lower on my hips than I had hoped. This was surprising to me - I normally wear a 27/28 in jeans and curvy on the bottom, and this skirt was a size S. It wasn't particularly loose/comfortable either, the skirt was so heavy it would just slip to a point on my hips where it was very very tight. I had mixed feelings about this dress. I did get compliments on it, but I kept wanting to pull it up an inch or two. What a great top! I don't own anything that's this shade of blue, so it was a bit outside the box for me in terms of color scheme - and I loved it! The little touch of magenta from the berry print is nice too. The top goes well with a lot of different bottoms; in the photo I paired it with RTR's Badgley Mischka Windswept skirt for a date at the Whitney museum, but on other occasions wore it with a plain white skirt / white jeans to dinner with friends. The white jeans I own are low-cut, which led to a little more midriff exposure than I'm comfortable with so in the future I would pair it with high-waisted jeans. The only thing I would want to change about this top is to make the cut a tad less boxy. I think if it tapered in at the bottom just a smidge, you could still get the loose top effect while looking slimmer. I got this as part of my Unlimited subscription, and wore it to various events - a colleague's engagement BBQ, church, rooftop date, etc. I got multiple compliments each time! Paired with white sneakers, tan wedges, or even fancy flipflops depending on the occasion. The material is pretty structured (no stretch) and holds its flared shape, which makes it quite flattering. The material was also thick enough that I did not need a bra, which was convenient since there is a cutout in the back. If you want a fitted look you might try going down a size down from your usual; I have a wide ribcage and the 4 (my usual size) fit me perfectly around my ribs and slightly loosely everywhere else.
