Strange fit, couldn't wear
Straps were way too long, and the whole thing seemed to be twisted to the side in a way I could not adjust

Not sure which proportion is off on me, but the straps were at least 3 inches too long and there was no good way to pin them, so I could not wear the dress.

Great on a hot day
Wore these out and about on a 90 degree day. They didn't wrinkle and kept me from looking like a wilted flower. Pockets were great and actually functional. Flattering waistline.

Hot dress
Packed this for vacation and it was perfect. Just needed a little tape. The waist did not stretch but it stayed comfortable through a nine-course tasting menu. Length was great standing, but the split in the front made it a little dangerous while sitting, so I was glad to have a napkin on my lap.

Secretly much shorter on one side, did not wear
I have been eyeing this dress for months for the gorgeous color and fabric. Followed the advice of other reviews and sized up, so I had no problem with the sleeves. What I did not expect is that it is gathered on the left such that it is much much shorter on that side, practically showing cheek from certain angles (and this was in a size 42 vs my normal size 40). Additionally, while I hoped the ruching in the front would be flattering, it instead accentuated my post-Christmas cheese belly, and to top it off, my husband told me it made me look broad shouldered. Alas. The color is beautiful, but it had to go back.

I felt great in this dress
Rented the dress, necklace, and jacket all from RTR. Did not plan to keep the jacket on, but we had a cold snap and I ended up wearing it most of the night. Post-COVID am solidly a size 6, and it fit comfortably but I probably could have gone with a 4 if it had been available. Bust area was too big for my small boobs and I had to keep pulling it up. But I loved the weight of the fabric, which was substantial, and the layers and cut of the pattern made it very flattering. It was unique and a standout among the crowd.

Ran very large. I am between a 4-6, but post-COVID almost always a 6. This 6 hung on me like a tent in every way, and not just a little loose, but too big to be able to wear.

More cow than tie-dye
I wear exclusively sweatpants now and rented these for something fun and trendy, but the print made me look more like a cow than fashionable. (My 9yo told me I could own cow and turn it into Cool Old Woman. Thanks, kid.) These also run more than a little big and there's no drawstring or anything to adjust the waist. I found myself hitching them up continually. The legs are also quite wide and not flattering. I'm wearing them anyway, since no one sees me these days, but I would not wear in public or rent again.

Thin and kind of see-through
Surprisingly glittery, which doesn't matter much for waist-up Zoom calls, but would make them far too young for me in non-pandemic times. The bigger problem is how thin they are. I.e., you'd better be wearing nude colored underpants. They were also on the short side, and I'm only 5'4". Even around the house I only wore them once.

Teeny tiny 20s dress
Rented this for a roaring 20s party, although my husband's first reaction was "I don't think people wore things that short in the 20s." No, they did not, but I wasn't about to buy a flimsy costume dress and with the 20s accessories this was perfect. RTR claims the color is bronze, but in every light and at every angle all I see is silver. I feel like a disco ball in this dress. Usually I'm between a small and medium, and the medium in this was short and tight enough to make me debate swapping for a large. In the end I kept the medium, but there is no room for a diet cheat day now. Do not need to wear a bra. The entire thing fits like a Spanx, and I'll be tugging it down every 2 minutes, but the dress is eye-catching enough to be worth it.

Glad I sized up for this dress, because it had no extra room. Wore it without a bra and it was totally fine, which was great because the back was interestingly strappy. Got lots of compliments. Would rent again!
