I got the job so I guess this dress did its duty!
I rented this dress for an interview for a broadcast reporter position. I was pleased overall, particularly because I landed the job, but I have a few comments regarding this dress. 1. Many other reviews encouraged renters to size down. However, I disagree. I would suggest ordering the size you usually wear and then sizing up for your backup. This dress is very form fitting and can hug unflattering areas, especially if you carry your weight in the mid section. 2. Like other reviews state, the fabric is strange. "Wet suit" material is the perfect way to describe it. The weight of the fabric was fine for a cold March day, but I have sensitive skin and it was a bit irritating. 3. Loved the length, but maybe not for someone under 5'5. This hit right below the knee on me and looked super sleek with some pointy toe nude heels. I'm 5'7 though, and could see this dress not being a great option for shorter women. 4. I rented this dress with the sole intention of having it look good on camera. The vibrant royal blue and minimalist color block pattern are perfect for this. 5. There was some pulling of the seams and loose threads. Hopefully RTR has caught these defects! Overall, I liked the style and color of the dress. With some Spanx on, I felt confident and even received compliments in the news room. I guess this rent paid off!

Slate and Willow has done it again with this gorgeous cocktail dress. I rented for my sorority's semi-formal function and I always feel my best wearing this designer. Some important things to note: 1. This dress is tightly fitted and if your midsection is your problem area (like mine!) this may not be the dress for you. I wore a corset underneath and was very pleased with the look, but I know some people don't want to deal with uncomfortable undergarments! 2. I have a very small chest and was unable to wear a bra with this dress because the neck is cut so low. I didn't quite fill out the bust area and had to be careful not to expose everything when sitting down. 3. The merlot color in the picture is not true to reality. The sequins on this dress are silver and almost purple. I was a little disappointed because the deep burgundy in the picture is so pretty. The actual color is not bad, but it is different than the picture on the site! A final point, as mentioned in other reviews, the sequins are quite irritating rubbing against your arms, even after anti chafing cream! However, I've always lived under the premise that beauty is pain and was able to get over this fact quite easily because of how stunning the dress is. Overall, I was incredibly happy with this dress, felt sexy and confident, and had a wonderful night.

Shed a tear dropping this dress off at the Post Office!
This Trina Turk dress is absolutely stunning! It is the perfect piece to wear to a range of events and can be dressed up or down. It was also very comfortable to wear-no weird undergarments necessary other than a strapless bra! I will say that sticky boobs would probably work better because the sides are cut low and can expose a more full-coverage bra. I am between a size 8 and 10 right now and the 8 fit perfectly. However, my backup size 6 looked a little better in the front, but as other reviews have stated, the slip underneath is true to size, if not a little smaller. The slip is attached to the outer portion of the dress, so if it is too tight, it will ride up and pucker in the back. I chose the roomier dress since I knew my night would consist of lots of dancing and moving around! Also, the neon orange is STUNNING. If you want to feel a little extra tan and make a show-stopping statement, this is the dress for you!

Comfortable, Classic Gown
I wore this dress for my sorority's formal. Not only is it beautiful and comfortable, I did not have to worry about any wardrobe malfunctions. I ended up not wearing a bra and whatever underwear I wanted. It was nice to be able to dance and move around constantly without having to touch or smooth my dress or feel self conscious about something too tight. I am almost 5'7 and wore flats with the regular length and it was perfect. However, if you are around my height and plan to wear heels, I would go with the long length.

Easter in Lilly!
This dress was a southerner's dream! I wore it to church for Easter Sunday in Savannah, Georgia and could not be happier. Perfect for spring! Like other reviews have said, the dress does run a little large. I could have worn the 8, but in favor of being a little more comfortable since I was sitting down most of the time, went with the 10, my usual size. It does have boning in the bodice, so be aware of that. I did not mind, but some with sensitive skin might. You do need a strapless bra, but the beauty of the one shoulder style is definitely worth it. Order this dress in your usual size and one size down! You won't regret it!

I didn't want to send this dress back!
I absolutely loved this dress! I rented it for the final night of my sorority's three night initiation rituals. It was flattering, comfortable, and a great balance between classy and sexy. You can dress it up or dress it down! I am 5'7 and this dress is on the shorter side. It didn't bother me at all, but if you are taller, sitting down a lot, or trying to stay on the modest side, I would keep that in mind. Overall, I was so pleased. If the opportunity ever arises for me to purchase it, I definitely will!

I have not felt this beautiful in a long time! This dress is probably my favorite I have ever worn!
The dress in very flattering and forgiving in fit. I carry my weight around my midsection and would never have dreamed of wearing a body-con style dress. I did wear Spanx underneath, but enjoyed being able to wear a regular bra and underwear. Additionally, despite the longer sleeves and more structured form, I was not limited in any movement and was able to swing dance the night away! My only suggestion would be to wear your hair up. My long, thick hair got really matted underneath due to the sequins, dancing, and the inevitable perspiration!

After my back up size dress was ripped, RTR allowed me to pick another dress in my backup size. This dress is absolutely stunning. The color is so beautiful and the fit hugs your body and makes your curves (whether you have them or not!) pop! This size dress was a bit big on me. The next time I order, I will definitely be getting the 8R or 10R. I was definitely bummed I had to leave it at home for my event!

I absolutely loved carrying this bag around! It was stunning yet understated and held my credit cards and ID, my iPhone 5 and lipgloss comfortably. The texture of the bag was so lovely and I received compliments all night!

A classic choice for my date's senior prom!
I wore this dress for my date's prom. I felt beautiful the entire night! I was a bit concerned because I have a larger mid section, but this dress worked perfectly, even without Spanx! Like the other reviews, sticky boobs and fashion tape are a must! I would even recommend bringing some extra tape with you because as you dance the night away, the tape will begin to unstick. I am 5'7 and the length of the regular size was perfect with four inch wedges. I was so sad to pack this dress up and ship it away. It is so striking, yet classic and beautiful!
