I wore this to a semi-formal business event where were were many many internationals from Asia and India, and among the sea of saris and traditional Eastern dresses, this fit right in! I got endless compliments. I would buy it in a heartbeat if I could afford it! Easy to wear, beautiful material and color.

First, the dress is lovely. The color is gorgeous, the fabric is rich, the cut is classic.( It was big on me, but I'm 5'2" and 100 pounds, so most things are!) The length was perfect, the pockets were fun and the quality is fine. Here's the "missing star"... So, I wore this at a black tie event on Halloween weekend... and EVERYONE that commented on my dress mentioned that I looked "just like a Disney princess!" ugh. Honesty, that WAS the first thought I had when I put it on, but I didn't like my backup dress, so I had to wear this one. With the off-the-shoulder sleeve caps, fitted waist and full skirt, it is _very_ princess-y. Which might work for some people. But not for a 42 year old woman at a very fancy business event! Oh well.... On a side note, the dress was HORRIBLY wrinkled when it arrived. So bad that I started a chat with a stylist to see what to do. After nearly an hour of back and forth, they offered to reimburse me to have it professionally dry cleaned at the hotel. The hotel dry cleaner wasn't able to get it turned around quickly enough, so they graciously brought me a steamer from the hotel boutique! (Five stars for the hotel!!) It took me 30 minutes to get all the wrinkles out, which was stressful while trying to get ready in time. I think the new "garment bag" shipping (rather than the garment boxes RTR used to ship in) don't work for dresses like this one. It was just crushed. :(

I absolutely loved this dress... the color, fabric, cut, fit, everything! except... the belt would NOT stay snug - there was nothing to keep it tight! Whoever wore it before me tried double-sided tape, and I tried putting on another strip, but it didn't work. Tried safety pins, too but the fabric was too thick. Finally just left it loose, which was a shame! But other than that little tic, the dress was perfect for the summer wedding, and a standout on the dance floor! It had an edgy 1950's prom feel. I wish owned it because I could have taken the silly belt to the tailor and had a hook put in!

This dress was fun to wear! The quality of craftsmanship was worthy of the Versace label. The dress is true to size, and the waist was definitely tiny! I'm a small gal and ordered the equivalent of a siE 0 - I'm 100 lbs and 5'2" but a more boyish frame - I had to wear spanx (yikes!) to get it zipped up . But once I was tucked inside it was nice to look like I had an hourglass frame!! Skirt was full and made for dancing . Not my typical style in dress, but perfect for a swing dance party!

I didn't end up wearing this dress, and forgot to snap a photo before taking it off after trying it on... Unfortunately, the hem on the bottom of the dress in the back hung down below the outer layer and looked very oddly cheap. Also, there was a very obvious repair at the top of the zipper that had been poorly executed and looked unprofessional. Finally, there was a faint but noticeable stain on the back at the bottom of the zipper - it looked like a thumbprint of someone grasping the bottom to zip it up. Fit-wise it was VERY tight at the waist - I am 100 pounds and usually wear a 0 or 00, and I could barely get this size 2 zipped up!! Definitely order up a size... I was terribly disappointed, as this dress was so pretty and I rented it 2 months ago to wear to an important business dinner... I actually had to scramble out and buy another dress to wear, since I hadn't packed a spare... I did call RTR right away and was offered a refund as soon as they received the dress back at their shop... i'm still waiting to see if this holds true, and I'll definitely update this review if they keep their promise! UPDATE*** RTR was true to their word and issued a refund for the dress. :) PS - This is the 6th dress I've rented from RTR and the first time I've ever had a quality issue... they are a class act and I will definitely keep renting!!

This is a truly GORGEOUS dress. It is everything I hoped for in a formal gown... beautifully made, tastefully elegant, flattering, and ... wait, can it be true?... comfortable!! The stretchy fabric felt soft on my skin and the gathering fabric at the hips and waist gave me no need to ever feel the urge to "smooth it" down or adjust it. It fell beautifully to the floor and I loved that I had to lift it a bit to walk up the stairs. The neckline is unique and classic, and the black sequins gave it just enough unexpected shimmer to set it apart in the sea of black gowns at our event. I LOVED the open back, and it was a great excuse to wear my hair in an up-do. I wore it with very simple 2.5 carat (really good fake) diamond drop earrings and a sparkly rhinestone cuff. It truly needed very little in the way of accessories! I received many, many compliments... even at the "after party" at the hip hotel bar, the waitress caught up to me on the way out and whispered, "WHERE did you get that gown? I'm obsessed!" and she was thrilled to hear that it was from RTR - I said, "I return it tomorrow - you can have it by next weekend!" I hope she reads this and rents it herself! :)

I got this as my back up dress, so I didn't end up wearing it out... It fit perfectly. I was pleasantly surprised at the lining: it's a very soft, thick cotton, and would have made the dress very comfortable to wear on a chilly night! The thickness of the fabric was also very forgiving, though it didn't necessarily "show off" a great figure. It is very lovely and beautifully detailed, but I didn't feel like it had a real "wow" factor, so I stuck with my first choice dress, a one-shoulder midnight blue Halston Heritage.

I wore this to a dinner party at our Yacht Club. The dress is stunning and I received so many compliments! The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the zipper is VERY difficult! Other reviewers have shared this, so I was prepared, but still surprised at how much effort it took! The dress is certainly not too tight, so that wasn't the issue... I think it's due to the fabric. Overall, though, I felt great and actually had two strangers come up to me to tell me how much they loved my dress! Sorry about the picture in my bathroom... I forgot to have anyone take a picture all night, and only realized that I needed one after we got home. So you can see it still wears well, even after a 5 hour dinner and 3 martinis! :)

I rented the same dress in black last winter for a black tie wedding. It is definitely a flattering fit... very elegant and lady-like. I have to admit that I liked the black version a little better - it was a bit more stunning, though the teal color of this one was perfect for a black tie event in South Florida!
