Rented as a maid of honor dress for my best friend's wedding. I loved this dress and wanted to keep it. The fabric was stiff but not uncomfortable, and the style gave me room to enjoy the taco buffet and wedding cake. It was in the 60's that day and I was comfortable. The dress was beautiful and summery in person and photographed well and colorfully. Would definitely rent again!

In person these were a little heavier and larger than I imagined, I would say they are a little larger than dimes each. I expected small studs. Up close the glaze is a little cloudy and the sparkles look kind of like glitter glue, but on they actually look fine. I would have preferred smaller earrings, but otherwise these were a nice touch of glittery sparkles on my ears to spice up an open square neckline with simple necklace. Not too gaudy for a fancy professional dinner, but probably too much for work.

Fit and underthings: Runs large. Nude slip liner that is attached and fully lines everything but the sleeves and I think upper chest/shoulder area. I wore a stick-on cutlet bra from Walmart with it and a spanx-type (off brand!) pencil dress slip in nude that had removable straps. We had to take the slip straps off because the opening in the back of the dress is fairly wide and they were clearly running up my back and not covered at all by the dress sides. The dress is short, but it's tight and stayed down for the most part. A nude compression slip didn't show because of the liner of the dress also being nude, so if it showed at the bottom at any time no one noticed. Sleeves are unlined. I'm a curvy girl and this disguised my belly pooch and love handles when I wore a slip. I wasn't even sucking in in this photo. The crisscross seams actually do hide a belly pooch rather than accentuating one. Quality: The dress is lace and many people before you have worn it. It's going to stretch and that's why it runs big. It's also going to have a few little pills and pulls from jewelry catching in fabric or being worn. That said, as long as you go down a size for the stretch, small holes, picks or strings just aren't noticeable at a nighttime event (indoors with lights). I think due to the combo of the lace pattern and deep navy color, it hides little flaws. I loved this dress and would rent again. I would not buy myself one simply because of the lace stretch and picking issues. But hey, that's why there's RTR!

Adjustable length, gold toned. The stones are inset just on the vertical center piece of the necklace. I wore this with a low-cut square neck navy blue dress. It drew attention to my chest and upwards, but it wasn't gaudy. I loved it and wanted to keep it. Wasn't tarnished or worn looking.

Dress tape would also probably be useful. I forgot to purchase some so I was a little focused on staying covered. I am pretty tall, so I ordered the long. The dress still brushed the floor while wearing 3 inch heels. I felt beautiful and really enjoyed wearing the dress to my event. Definitely recommend.

Pros: Stones are very sparkly. Piece looks like vintage costume jewelry. Good length for a v-neck or to lay over a crew neck, and has some adjustment in length due to having an about 2-inch chain with which to clasp it. Cons: Pearls seemed (are?) fake, but not chipped or damaged. On the back the metal settings for the stones are dull and unpolished (not dirty, just in a setting that doesn't look finished). Overall: Pleased. It was kind of what I expected, but it would have been nice if the pearls were real. If they are, they're very lightweight so it didn't feel like it. I just don't know that you could pass these off as real pearls. Nice piece if you take it for what it is--costume jewelry.

Event: Military holiday party Jewelry: Also rented from RTR. Ben-Amun Victorian Crystal Statement Necklace and Kenneth Jay Lane Blue Skies Drop Earrings. Fit: I am usually a straight up 8. I wore the 8, but it fit a little roomy around my ribcage and upper chest. It also was long on me, falling 3-4 inches below my knees. The top is a true crossover style and a very deep V. I'm actually a 34DD. I wore a plunge bra, but when I leaned forward a little you could still see the middle of the bra, so I pinned the dress just a little to keep the bottom of the V closed. I also placed Hollywood Fashion Tape (about 2 inches) on either side of the neckline just along my boobs to keep the fabric in place. It didn't feel like I would pop out or anything, but since the fit was a bit loose I wanted the neckline to stay in place and not show my bra cups accidentally since I would be moving around. Pros: Fabric is an expensive looking, tightly woven, medium stiff, sturdy fabric that is wrapped and pleated nicely. Still drapes and gathers when you sit, but no wrinkles whatsoever, and it doesn't seem like it would be easy to wrinkle. Very flattering shape I could still eat dinner in (hides the tummy--this photo was after dinner). Blue flowers are bright and lovely. Very classy and I received several compliments. Fabric was thick enough for an indoor winter party and I was plenty warm with just sheer black pantyhose. Armholes don't gap or show your bra and the straps are very wide and go to the ends of the top of your shoulder so there is no worry about bra straps showing. Cons: I got my ring caught on a fiber of the fabric and it tends to pull and look stringy. Was able to trim the string off but was mindful of my rings thereafter. The dress was a little longer on me than anticipated, but appropriate for winter so it worked out. Neckline had to be pinned in the front as above but otherwise stayed in place. I would rent this piece again in the same size, an 8.
