Great for corporate holiday party
I wore this to my SO's company Christmas party; I was a little worried that it would stand out too much (I don't usually wear sequins), but it fit right in. Long sleeves on a dress are always a gamble because they tend to run too wide in my experience, but these sleeves were fitted without being too tight. I have broad shoulders and a short torso, and this dress worked fine for both. The back is open, but the material is thick enough that I didn't need to wear a bra. I think the material would also hide Spanx pretty well. Also, I'm 5'6", and the hem on the size small hit me a little lower on the calf where it does on the model, which was slightly unflattering. I'm taking one star off--it's really more like half a star--for the hemline and for the fact that the dress was uniformly a little uncomfortable and a bit itchy.

Officiant gown
RTR substituted this dress (one of my backup choices) after there was a problem with the style I'd ordered. It was a bit low-cut for my role as wedding officiant, but no big deal--I'm the one who chose it as a backup, after all, not RTR. This is a classic black mermaid-fit gown that every woman wants to wear at least once in her life, with the added feature of the flattering mesh cut-out on the right side. The cut-out does have the downside of making it difficult to wear a bra, because it occasionally exposes a small section of bra band; the neckline is also low enough that my bra would peek out if I wasn't careful. That said, I wore a black bra with the gown anyway, and no one noticed. I have a small bust (34A) and average hips, and the 4R was a little loose in the shoulders and bust, but fit comfortably on the bottom. The backup 2R was very similar in size; it fit more comfortably on top but was the slightest bit tight on the bottom. Over all, very glamorous and comfortable! Sorry I forgot to take a photo :(

Beautiful dress, but not for short torsos!
I should have heeded the many warnings from earlier commenters about how this dress isn't ideal for short torsos, big ribcages, or thick waists (all of which I have), but the dress looked so beautiful that I couldn't resist trying it for my free birthday rental with the Pro membership. I didn't wear the dress in either of the sizes I ordered (2 and 4), primarily because the cutouts hit me at the bottom of my ribcage rather than at the thinnest part of my waist, and my ribs and rib-fat just jutted out awkwardly. My only complaint about the fit of the dress that might apply to more women uniformly was that the arm-holes on the dress felt insanely small, as if they were cut for extremely narrow shoulders and narrow arms, so they dug into my underarms hard, and created an extreme version of that unflattering fat bulge between the underarms and the chest. The rest of the dress fit well, and the material was just beautiful. It's probably flattering on an extra slim body type!

Good for a presentation
I wore this for my dissertation defense, and I was so busy that day that I didn't take a good photo of it! The dress fit pretty well and the ultra-high neckline is unmistakably professional--there's no chance of accidentally showing too much skin if you lean forward. I did feel a bit like I was toeing the line between frumpy and well-dressed, but everyone else assured me that it wasn't frumpy at all :)

Slow delivery but great dress! Convinced me to go Pro!
This was my third rental, and I was happy enough with the experience to upgrade to a Pro membership. I do wish that there was a way to get a narrower delivery window than the interval between shipping time and 8PM, and this order and my last order were both delivered after 8PM anyway. But the dress itself was great -- like other reviewers have noted, the waist is very small, so it's good to order up a size. The cut of this dress is such that you can wear a racerback bra or a strapless bra. It also tends to wrinkle quite a bit, and I had some trouble steaming the wrinkles out, but it wasn't terribly noticeable. I love all the points of uniqueness of this dress: the hi-lo cut, the fabric above the belt...and I pretty much ordered it just for the black that's visible on the inside of the skirt. It's a little tricky for others see that black fabric on it while you're wearing it -- it seems much more noticeable on the model--but it's still cool. I'm 5'6" and the size 4 hit an inch or so lower on the backs of my legs than it does on the model. I had so much fun at the wedding I wore it to that I forgot to take a photo!

Both beautiful and unique.
I ordered the size 2 but ended up wearing the backup 0. The straps were a little bit long for my short torso, but otherwise, the fit was great. The colors are gorgeous, and more vibrant in person than in photos, although the texture is less shiny in person, which was neither good nor bad. The dress still photographs well, regardless! For women with a smaller bust, this could easily be worn with or without a bra, because the material is a bit thick. The thickness gives it a weight that feels regal, especially with the full skirt! I've never worn a hi-lo hemline or an A-line cut, but after this experience, I want to again! And lastly, the pockets are a plus :)

A good complement to the Monique Lhullier Double Time dress.
I'm not used to wearing earrings this large or flashy, but they went very well with the dress I'd rented; my look would have seemed imbalanced without them. But I did think they looked a little bit cheap close-up; they're more cobalt blue than navy blue in the light, and they look more plastic-y than glass- or stone-like.

Perfect first RTR experience!
I wore this to an upscale afternoon/evening wedding in Tennessee in May. This checked all the boxes that I see in many other reviews: I got compliments all day in person and afterward when the photos went up on Facebook, I really didn't want to send the dress back, and I felt prettier than I ever have in any dress! It looks better in person than it does on the model or in photos. The material is mid-weight, which is lighter than I was expecting, and it's quite comfortable, although the size I wore dug into my underarms slightly. I'm pretty flat-chested, and I was able to fill out the top of the dress with a push-up bra, although I think a regular one would have been fine. The dress definitely enhances curves for straight body types. There's something genius and flattering about the way the top color block curves upward, and the colors below are saturated and vivid. Beautiful dress. Edit, 7/2016: I have since bought this dress at a RTR sample sale because I loved it so much: $90 for good as new! I purchased the dress in a 4, and I wanted to note that there seems to be very little difference in size between 0 and 4.
