No surprise, this dress is very unforgiving. Thankfully, the dark color helps slightly. It basically feels like you're wrapped in a giant Ace bandage - I've worn form-fitting dresses before, but this one is VERY form-fitting....if that's your thing, cool. As this was a backup dress for me, I opted for the other dress as I was afraid that one glass of wine would make me explode out of the dress. Also, the picture of the dress makes it look navy, but the description says "black" - it is DEFINITELY a dark navy...not black. :)

Rented the 6 and 8, unfortunately the 8 was unavailable due to being returned damaged. Normally I'm a 6 in dresses, but I would say this dress runs small. I was able to get away with the 6, but it was very tight and somewhat move-restricting...the 8 likely would have been better. Overall, it was fun to try the cutout and I received a bunch of compliments on the dress!

Wore this dress to a wedding on Cape Cod. It was perfect for the weather/venue, and SUPER comfortable. I'm 5'8, and ordered regular length rather than long (since it seemed that regular length was still pretty long even in heels based on the reviews) - NOT TRUE! If you're 5'7 or over...and want to wear heels, go with the Long length! If you're cool with wearing flats, then go with the Regular length. The Regular length ended up being totally fine - since the dress was floor length you couldn't tell I was wearing flip-flops to the wedding, and thereby was able to avoid having to change shoes at all on the dance floor :) I imagine if you go with the Long, and end up wanting to switch to flip-flops to bust a move, you're probably going to be tripping over the dress.

So, I definitely could have used/tried the 6...but the 4 was the only size available. I could barely zip it up, and it just looked....young - like I think I would have loved this dress to wear to a semi-formal in high school. I have a long torso, so the waist seem just didn't fall where it should have. Just not a flattering look overall - this could definitely fit someone better who is a smaller frame...just not the right dress for me!

Wore this dress to my rehearsal dinner - I was torn between the 4 and the 6, and went with the 4 as the 6 bunched a teeny bit more in the waist...whereas the 4 fit a bit tighter and therefore, less bunch. The dress is perfectly "bride-y" to wear to a rehearsal dinner, shower, etc. Received a bunch of compliments on the dress. The fabric is thick/sturdy enough that it's not flimsy and the lace is great quality - and the keyhole back is beautiful. The flowers on the front of the dress aren't actually a different color as they look in the picture- it was just the way the flash was reflecting off the material :)

Great statement piece - I wore it for my bridal shower and received tons of compliments (of course, an opportunity to pitch the awesomeness that is RTR). Great quality necklace - heavy enough to feel like a nice piece but not TOO heavy that you feel like it's dragging you down. Chain is adjustable so that it can sit higher or lower according to your preference.

I rented this dress and the Badgley Mischka "Yellow Peacock Chiffon Dress" (I was in a yellow-mood I guess) - and ended up wearing the other dress. This dress was really cute and fit well, but it didn't really have the "look" for an evening wedding - but it would be great for a daytime wedding or other event.

I rented the 4 and the 6, and ended up wearing the 6 as the 4 was a little too tight around the hips with no stretch to the fabric (I'm a little pear-ish). The 6 was more roomy than I would have liked up top, but with a strapless bra it was do-able. I would also recommend Spanx under the dress, not that it's very clingy, but you could see undies (even nude ones!) through the fabric in the back. I was also nervous that the style of the top wouldn't be that flattering in that it would create a somewhat potato-sack effect, but this wasn't the case at all. The flowing material in the top was sheer enough that you could still see a waist. Overall this was a fun dress to rent in a color that I would probably never "buy" - and I had strangers stop me to compliment the dress, so I would say that's a win :)

I wore the 6 and it fit without looking ridiculous, but it was a bit large- unfortunately the 4 wasn't available as a back-up size. I was surprised that the bottom of the dress was pretty roomy - typically with "straight" dresses without stretch I find that the waist fits and the hips are too tight, or it fits in the hips and isn't form fitting in the waist ("pear" body type - woo!). The materials is also not even remotely what it looks like in the picture - the material is woven, without a discernable pattern (or sheen), and is almost wool-like. I wore it for a company holiday party and it was great - fun enough to be fun, and covering enough to be work appropriate. My only wish was that the 4 was available :)

The dress definitely runs large - I rented both the 2 and the 4 given other reviews that the dress runs large, and ended up wearing the 2. The 4 fit, but the side of the top was a little bit droopier and I didn't want to be concerned about a wardrobe malfunction if double-stick tape failed. The dress is most likely made for ladies that do not have a protruding posterior - the draping in the back connected to the bottom of the back of the dress can lead to a little bit of a "tent" feel...and I definitely felt like the dress would become briefly "too short" in the back if I raised my arms or while dancing. Overall - a forgiving style, great color and a fun dress...perhaps not to permanently own, but definitely to rent :)

I rented this for a wedding and it was perfect! I had so many compliments on the color, the style, the fit. The color is a bit more of a rich aqua. The material is thick and strechy enough that you don't really need Spanx - you definitely feel tightly packed in this dress, but not in an uncomfortable way. Definitely too low in the back to wear a strapless bra. The only complaint is was the right side of the top (the "shoulder" side) didn't really lay flat, so if you bent the right way you had a serious threat of a wardrobe malfunction. I ended up using some Hollywood fashion tape on each side of the top.

really pretty dress - my only complaint is that it was much "heavier" than I expected. The material is not soft cotton jersey, so the dress itself has some weight to it. Color is also far more teal than it appears in the picture.
