This dress was perfect for a "black & white" theme gala. The waistband is small/fitted, but the pleats in the skirt are very forgiving, even for a tummy. The top is also pretty cut in; I wore a black racerback bra. The variable hemline definitely shows some leg (I wore stockings), especially when dancing. The satin is lovely and pretty thick; the pattern is stenciled on. My husband thought this was my best RtR ever and voted for me to rent it again. I got compliments even from the valet parking cars.

The waist on this dress is VERY HIGH, so neither my regular size (4), nor the back up size worked. And, for hourglass figures, this dress accentuates one's top, so it didn't flatter my body, at least.

I didn't wear this dress for a couple reasons: I'm 5'6.5" and the 6R was too short unless I wanted to wear flats (note that in the photo, I'm barefoot), and while the fabric is lovely, it's pretty bright and solid, plus, as an hourglass, I would say that it's better suited for straighter and narrower types.

I wore this beautiful dress to a charity event and received compliments all night, including from women -- and men -- I didn't know. (Many opportunities to sing Rent the Runway's praises.) One thing that's maybe not apparent from the photos is that the tulle at the bottom really moves when you dance (see 2nd photo) - which is fun! I'm 5'6.5" and wore 2 inch heels, which was perfect for the regular length. I also wore a regular bra (w/ plastic see-through straps).

This dress is silk tweed, woven into a gorgeous, lush pattern, but as others have said, it's heavy for a sundress. I wore it to a later afternoon reception/fundraiser where It was 90. I worried about sweating, but it's open enough I was fine. It does hug the ribcage, but I didn't think the neckline is too revealing and the pleats start around your bellybutton, so there's plenty of room for tummy, hips & butt. The fabric is very soft; the 4 was pulled down a bit at the back hem (nothing a little fashion tape couldn't fix). And the lining showed at the neck.

This was my back up dress, and while I went w/ my 1st choice, I would have been happy to wear it. The drape is lovely, the color is flattering and it's super comfortable. As other reviewers noted, it doesn't look quite like the one on the model -- it's not boat necked in front or a low scoop in the back.

I wore this for an auction and got compliments all night. If you want a dress that will make you look poured in, has lovely detail on the back, a beautiful drape and swirls when you had dance, choose this. I wore a Nu-Bra for my D girls. Although the smaller size (2L) would have held them tight without, it was too tight for dancing/eating across the hips. One other comment: I'm 5'6" and wore low (2 inch) heels with the 4R. I was sorry I hadn't gotten the 4L as my backup (rather than the different size). The dress's hem is a couple inches longer in the back (look at the side photo on the model), maybe especially if you take it up on the top. So, the dress grazed the floor behind, but felt a tad short in front.

This dress is classy, form fitting and, with the high neckline and long sleeves, almost demure from the front. So the back is a "wow" surprise. It was less royal blue and more purple, in my opinion, than the photo. I do disagree w/ the reviewer who said you could wear a regular bra; even my "backless" bra strap showed. I used a very low-back corset. Between the velvet & the lining, the dress is thick enough you could not wear a bra at all, but I wouldn't dance in it. Because I was at a semi-costume party, I wore sparkley stockings but sheer black would work fine. Got lots of compliments. (And lost the slip peaking out in the photo before leaving home!)

On me, this dress was very tight in the hips, so I was glad I had ordered both S and M; even the M was snug. It was also pretty short in front, or maybe just it hit on my legs at an awkward place. The tail is fun. But, I wore my backup dress instead. For $25, getting a backup dress is one of the best RtR policies there is!

This was my backup dress, and while it's very fun and would have, I'm sure gotten tons of complements (it's a look at my dress), we decided my 1st dress was more sophisticated and appropriate for the event. Also, the inner navy slip on the size 6 hung below the outer sheath, so would have required some fashion tape.

Perfect for a benefit auction, dinner and dancing. Classy & sophisticated for a 50+ yr old, ok to eat in because of the fabric gathers at the waist, and comfortable for dancing . The RtR experience was great; everything worked as planned. The dress was in fine shape (as were the backup size and 2nd dress). I wore a jet bead necklace and red patent pumps. Got several compliments from other women, my husband loved it, and I was so glad not to be part of the sea of black.
