Pancake butt
Loved how they felt and looked everywhere.. except how they flattened my butt. I think they even pushed it down whereas we would all prefer a lift. Bummer.

High waist, good length for 5'7 (if you're any taller, they would be v short), very comfortable. I personally never wear leather because it feels too edgy for me, but I felt great in these. Almost bought them!

Inverted triangle fit- broad shoulders with shoulder pads (once you un-bunch them they're not overly bulky), and a fitted waist. Side zip makes it easy to put on. I did find my long hair getting stuck in the sequins, so I wore it up. Paired with high waist leather shorts for a fun night out.

Such a fun bold print. Heavy material but I wasn’t hot. I’m finding that these Simon Miller sweater dresses run a little big. I’ve mentioned this in another review - that normally I would not order an XS in a sweater dress for fear it would cling to me, but Simon Miller’s do not.

A shirt dress with shape!
Arrived NWT and when I first tried on I was obsessed: a shirt dress so far from frumpy/boxy it actually hugged my curves without being tight. And the bottom button hits just high enough… almost too high for the office! One more nitpicky thing is that it was a bit wide in the shoulders and the collar kind of splayed out, making the top kinda big overall. I found myself adjusting it a lot. But the pros far outweighed the cons. I’d rent it again.

Sporty meets sexy
Several people told me I looked like I was going to play tennis. Then they also genuinely complimented the dress. I loved it too! Looks tiny when it arrives, but then somehow expands on your body with feeling stretched… in the best way. Note it’s a bit short for the taller gals - I wore flats or sneakers to make it work.

Top is a high quality (thick) cotton tank - casual; bottom is lined pleated chiffon - dressy. But somehow it works for both business and party. Also note the bottom hem is a wide cotton trim that needs good ironing.

I summer-ized it
Wore to Charleston tennis tournament in April (which is basically summer) and got lots of compliments on the preppy vibe. It’s a heavier knit but the tiny tank top lends itself to warmer weather, and the cardigan is perfect as the evening gets cooler. Rent it!!

Long straps
Loved the garden party chic vibe of this dress. It runs a little big overall. Most importantly, like the other reviews said, the straps are extremely long. I couldn’t tuck them in like others suggested because the top was too loose, and doesn’t have any of the sticky things that a normal strapless dress would have. So I linked the straps together in the back with a clasp to shorten the strap sitch and hold the dress up. Took a little work but looked great.

Looks black in all the photos but it’s midnight blue. It’s gorgeous. One issue is that the straps were too long for me. I bought some satin-y black cord from Michael’s that matched the spaghetti straps well enough and tied them together in the back. It worked great. It’s also a really long skirt, even for me at 5’7, so definitely need 3”+ heels. But once I got all that sorted, it was perfect. Super dance-able at black tie wedding, never worried about a wardrobe malfunction, tons of compliments.

The top half fit great but the bottom looked like men's underwear from the 50s... normally I'm afraid of rompers not fitting my long-ish torso, but this one had the opposite problem. The crotch was SO low. Technically it fit, but I thought it looked ridiculous, so I just wore it around the house.

So fun but tricky for long torso
As my friend said when she helped me put it on, "it's great for a rental, but I wouldn't buy it." I'm 5'7 with a long torso so while the length overall was good, the waist part rode up well above my natural waist, creating a couple-inch gap in the back. It was totally fine for one night out, but not ideal. All other reviews are true- it's a 2 person operation to put this on and take it off! Overall super cute though.
