It's Not You, It's Me
I had high hopes of this dress transitioning from work day to date night, but I just could not do it justice. It's a lovely quality dress with the slightest of shimmer to the fabric that always holds the pleats, but the straps are not adjustable and it emphasized more pear shape than I was hoping for. I mean, the pear shape is real, so no fault of the dress!

Airy and light, which was key in steamy hot weather. Very long - did the short girl button trick to cinch it up a bit so I wouldn't trip over myself. The fabric moves beautifully.

Paired perfectly with the Metallic Lanie Skirt by the same designer. Has similar level of shimmer in the fabrics, so worked well. I'm very short, so "cropped" was relative on me, but I was okay with not showing off belly.

Hunchback of Notre Dame
The dress kept wanting to ride up so that waist and hips fit correctly, but then the bodice was too tall for my short frame, so I looked a bit like I was on the Viktor & Rolf runway at Paris Fashion Week 2022. Had it fit me, the dress would have been ok for work, but nothing worth ringing the bells of Notre Dame for.

Dress Up / Dress Down
Fit seemed a little off - shoulder straps are not adjustable and a little long for a short girl (was easier just to wear with a sweater or blazer to keep them from falling down rather than struggle with the straps), but at the same time it was short from crotch to waist. Tried it both dressed up for work and dressed down for the weekend. It did the job, but not a standout.

Light as a Feather
Thank goodness these were super lightweight fabric for the steamy day outside. Meant they were also a somewhat susceptible to wrinkles, but so was everything that day! As noted by others, the pleated waist can be a little poufy and awkward at times when seated.

Couldn't Love It More!

Looking for More Reasons to Wear This Dress
Perhaps a tad snug on me, but wore it anyway, because I loved it. Pretty color with a pink undertone to it. The back opening is just a little low, so just had to be aware to keep the bra clasp below that.

I can see why many had difficulty with this outfit. I went to the designer’s website to verify size, because there’s no world in which clothing I wear should be called “extra small”. The top half does feel a bit disproportionately large considering the waist size, and it sits quite wide on your shoulders, but with a strapless bra it can work. If I had had more time getting ready I might have tried dress taping the hem up, but that’s only because I’m very short - it wasn't totally necessary.

As others noted, runs quite large, so size down. And even with 5” platform heels and it pulled up around my waist, it was still a bit too long. Has some shimmer, but is still very versatile depending on what you pair with it.

Sparkle & Slink
Stretchy fabric clings to every curve. For this reason I wore with Spanx for personal comfort. Also worn with bra, though could probably also have gone without. Three-inch heels made the dress perfect length, however I did tape up the lining as it kept showing an inch or two at the bottom front. There’s a tiny bit of a train at the back. Sequins can be a bit scratchy at underarms, but otherwise comfortable with enough give for movement.
