Light, flowy and flattering
Lightweight fabric, beautiful coral pink color, breezy and flowy when the wind hits it, nice coverage of upper arms and belly area. Wore it once to work and once to a mother's day brunch. Would rent again.

My favorite rental ever (and I am a RTR frequent flyer!) Would have bought this vibrant, delightful blouse if it weren't so expensive and if I hadn't worn it to every imaginable event! Love, love, love! You will for sure stand out on a crowd!

Top looked sloppy
I was so excited for this rental but it was just ok, as I’ve found most of the Slate and Willow dresses to be. Fits true to size. I’m a 10-12, 36C, and 10 fit fine, but with lots of room left on the bust area. Wore it once with navy heels and cream blazer and sent it back ASAP.

Perfect party dress for diverse occasions
This dress has been on my most sought-after list for ages and I couldn’t wait to rent it! Now that I have it, I’m considering buying it. In the meantime, I’m gonna hold onto it for awhile, especially now that RTR offers additional renting options (thank you, RTR!). I’ve worn it to a Latino fashion show with stilettos and a charity cook-off with Sperry top siders and apron in Houston, and plan to wear it to a country concert with cowboy boots, my book club with strappy sandals and a commencement ceremony up north with heels before returning it (IF I return it!). The Oxford stripe material may seem somewhat last season but the embroidery is super rich and is timeless, plus the sleeves are sewn just so to give it an extra edginess. If you can get your hands on this gem, consider yourself lucky! 4/11/19

2 for 1 luxury outfit but short on my 5’1” frame
I’m 5’1” and this was short and barely passable for a conservative work environment. Wore with flats so as not to bring attention to it’s short length. Got many, many compliments from stylish female co-workers who thought it was couture. The bottom ruffle is flirty and fun. The sleeves were a tad long on me but I didn’t feel the need to use fashion tape (don’t think you could with the way the sleeves are beautifully buttoned at the bottom). I’m between a 10 and 12 and a modest 36C with a little bit of a belly and in a size 10 the dress itself was tight in the chest and was snug in the waist, but with the baggier shirt overlay it hid the wonky underneath and looked sleek. Spring/summer weather has hit here in Houston so I went bare-legged but the shortness might be reconciled with black leggings in cooler locales, or just rock it with stilettos and thick glasses if you’re going for a smart/sexy look. 4/11/19

Smocking unforgiving of back fat and sticks to behind
I had my eye on this dress and saw it on a woman who was running around at a benefit luncheon, who looked cute in it but who said she ordered a size up to make room for the girls, even with the smocked back. Rented first chance I could and was so disappointed. My back fat was super pronounced with the smocking, even with a Spanx smoothing bra. I salvaged the look by wearing with a navy blazer and heels and a green lapel pin (yes, there are small species of green in the dress). Then the second problem arose - every time I stood up from my chair to object in court, the skirt was wedged in my butt and thighs (even with full coverage undies) for all of the gallery to see, so I was constantly tuggIng at the behind. It was super distracting and kept me from staying focused on the task at hand. If you’re standing all day, great. Otherwise, too fussy. I took it off the second I left court and sent it back.

Super low cut, lots of cleavage
I’m normally a 10-12. First ordered in 12 and it was super swimmy in the hips. So I returned it for a 10 which was better, except for the suuuuper loooow cut of the neckline. I’m an attorney and wore this in the courtroom but was VERY self conscious about looking slutty in this dress. I tried to cover my cleavage (which I have very little of) with my jacket, and even my badge. It didn’t work and I was grateful to send this dress back. So sad bc the red striped ribbon detail on the hems of the shoulders and slit at back bottom of the dress sets this dress apart from your normal conservative work dress. The stripes on the dress include a white and red strip. I wore it with a red blazer for extra pop and a neutral gray heel.

High end classy casual work dress - slate gray
Love this dress! Would buy if it was more affordable. Luxe, flowy, sensual fabric. Wore to a literacy fundraiser luncheon in Houston and got a bazillion compliments! It is a true wrap dress so when the wind picks up, be prepared to hold it down or else be exposed. There is also a keyhole opening in the back that is high enough that it won’t show your bra or a camisole, more of an attractive feature of the dress. The primary thing you should know is that the striped/crisscross pattern is more of a slate gray rather than black, but it’s so close in color you could wear black and no one would notice. I paired it with gray tank for extra coverage. I am 5’1”, 150 lbs, normally a size 12 and ordered a large which worked well but guess a size medium may be a better fit with less fabric around the hips. This dress is so much more impressive in person!

Believe the reviews! This dress is SUPER SHORT! I’m not modest but at 5’1” I felt very exposed in this dress, especially walking upstairs to our table. Wore it for my birthday luncheon so I friggin owned it but would never rent again.

Flattering but nothing special
I don’t know why not I thought this dress was a chiffon material. It is not - it’s more of a cotton/spandex stretchy blend. It looks like something you’d find in a junior’s store. I have a stomach pooch I’m self conscious about and used a corset that I think did the trick to cinch my waist. Wore to a crawfish boil/barbecue with some pink suede Ugg sandals I had. I think the shoes made the outfit. This dress is so not worth the retail price as it looks quite cheap in person but still enjoyed wearing it for one casual evening out. For reference, I’m a 10-12 and the large was perfect.

Great dress for Fall
Wore this dress 3 times with cowboy boots, to Friendsgiving and dinner parties at two restaurants. Loved how forgiving it was on the belly after gorging on big meals, yet still very flattering. The ruffles were so Southern/Texan! Very well made with thick, fabulous fabric and beautiful lining. Should be tied in the back as other reviewers have noted. After 3 wears, I was ready to return this dress, but can 100% see myself renting again.

Elton John concert dress (I guess that’s why they call it the BLUES)
I’m rocking this dazzler at the Elton John concert this weekend. Decided to wear it backwards, pinned a little at the chest for more modesty. It was a hit! Tons of compliments! So sparkly and warm enough to wear without a jacket to and from the venue on a chilly Houston evening.

Paired this dress with a pair of magenta cowboy boots for a fundraising gala in Houston. I was happy with the overall look, though I don't think this dress looked like a $600 dress/retail. I liked the tulle in the skirt that gave it volume and structure (and helped camouflage my belly pooch). One couple commented that I looked like the "Sweetheart of the Rodeo" which is high praise around here so I'll take it. <3 This was my backup dress and I was relieved the 10 fit true to size. I wore a strapless black bra and had no trouble with the zipper as other reviewers have commented. I am 5'1" and the dress hit a couple of inches above my knees.
