I was able to wear this with no Spanx or bra. I did wear Dimrs since I didn't wear a bra. Wore it to an outdoor weeding on the Strip in Vegas and it was chilly for Vegas and I was warm. I would not choose this for a hot outdoor event. I ordered the Medium and the Small. I wore the medium and tried on the small after the event just to see and the small fit as well but my cleavage was more exposed. It would be fine for a night out just not a wedding...not even a Vegas wedding. If you are larger up top do a medium and not a small unless you don't mind extra cleavage.
