Waist has no give, not for pear or apple shaped
I am a bit pear shaped and the found the waist so tight that it was unwearable. Returned immediately, which was too bad because otherwise the dress was fine. Maybe I will try a bigger size.

The dress is ribbed so it shows every lump and bump. I wore it with spanx to make it look smooth.
