I thought this dress was perfect for the Hindu wedding ceremony I was attending, and feel that it did fit in well with the other guests that were dressed in sari's and other traditional Indian clothing. In a typical dress of this nature I would wear a 6, but after reading reviews thought an 8 might be a better option, and feel that was a smart move. There is some give to this dress, but not a whole lot, so If you are on the fence, I would size up just for comfort level. I had another rental to change into for all the dancing that was going to take place at the reception, but this was perfect for the ceremony, and felt regal without being overdone. I think if you are renting for an event with a lot of movement it might be best to go with something a little more flexible in the skirt (I walked up a whole lot of stairs with my knees stuck together, so I am hoping this helps another person from looking like a weirdo)!

I wore this dress to a Sangeet, which is a traditional ceremony that takes place the night before Hindu wedding celebrations. I was looking for a dress with color, that was comfortable and had good flow... this had all! My best friend recommended I rent this one, and I was not sold at first, as I don't care for cold shoulders or arm ruffles on myself (or anyone, if I am being honest). She then said try wearing it without the arm ruffle, but letting them fall to the side...GAME CHANGER! I think it really worked, and was the look I was going for this particular evening The dress still had the tags on it (found that out after it was on, oops) and was great quality, and very comfortable. I will say it was longer than I thought it would be (at my ankles, and I am 5'6") but still worked. I would recommend for people shorter than 5'6" to wear taller shoes, or make it a full on maxi with some cute flats. The colors of this dress were bold, yet subtle with placement and allowed for many accessory options. I chose to wear silver for shoes and jewelry, but can see that a variety of other options would work. I received compliments all evening, with a handful of people stating it was their favorite dress at the ceremony. Highly recommend, and if you are on the fence with the arms ruffles, know that it can work without them! Glad I stepped outside my comfort zone and rented this gorgeous dress!
