The shoulder pads, dear lord the shoulder pads
Rented for a cocktail party with a futuristic vibe. Was happy to be a little more edgy and sport some shoulder pads and a mini. But the mini is SO mini, I think too short for me to wear, and I usually love showing off my legs. But the bigger issue, and I do mean big, are the shoulder pads. They are gigantic, as in make me look like linebacker in full pads, with no neck. Also very bulky and not well anchored to the fabric, so in addition to being like small mattresses on your shoulder, they swim around and kinda bump you in the ear. So, sadly, not wearing to anything anytime soon. maybe if you were very slim, and very into dramatic fashion choices this would work for you, but not for me.

Lovely but big and long
I wear a size 6 usually and the MR was too big on me. Also super long, even with high heels. I'm 5'5. I love color and flowiness- feels very light and romantic. Will try to size down.

Loved loved loved it. So dramatic, and still classic.
I wore this to the White House Correspondents Dinner. So many expensive gowns there and so many people vying for attention. This dress stood out head and shoulders above the rest. I had complete strangers come up to me to tell me how much they loved it. One couple kept looking over at me and whispering, and finally the woman came over to say that every year they played the "best dress in the place" game with each other and that my dress won. I met someone at a meeting a few weeks later and she said - I remember you, you wore that gorgeous dress to the Correspondent's Dinner! I was worried about wearing white, but covered up flaws and bulges nicely. The fabric is heavy, so it's more forgiving, and really holds you in. (I wore spanx to cover up panty lines anyway.) Will absolutely rent again!

Holy Moly this dress is short!
Adorable dress- swingy and cute and great deep color. But it is SHORT. Like, here's my name address and zip code short. Like a shetland pony would be looking UP your skirt short. Like, guests at your event might wonder whether you are married to your husband or charging by the hour short. It is the side slits that really take it from arguably saucy to arguably inappropriate. I ended up sticking them closed with a mixture of fashion tape and band aids on the inside, which worked for 3/4 of the evening. Oops. Would not wear again.

Pretty but not formal
This is a lovely dress with a deep dramatic color. The fit is good, covers the ladies nicely up top and pulls in the waist. The main issue is the fabric, which is a thin stretchy cotton that feels (and looks) like a nightgown. And therein lies the problem. It does not look like a black tie gown, because of the informal material, and I felt somewhat out of place in a sea of satin and lace and sheen. Also, b/c it is so thin, it shows every single bulge and crease, either from spanx or your natural curves. Holds nothing in at all. In sum, it's a pretty dress, and maybe good for a wedding party where you want to look dramatic, but I wore it to the White House Correspondents Dinner and would not do so again. Also WAY too expensive for what it is.

Lovely but not right for me
Fit true to size. Material and overall feel seems a little on the cheap side- not terrible, but doesn't feel super special. I liked it on, but went with my 2nd style, which had more structure and detail. This is basically just a really nice stretchy sparkly dress

Didn't do it for me. What other reviewers say about the color is true - much darker bronze than the picture, but that wasn't a problem. Just doesn't fit very well, baggy around the waist, shapeless around the neckline. Seems pretty cheaply made - I was turned off by the seams on the sleeve and neckline, which looked like a low-end shirt, and the fabric felt like inexpensive polyester. I expected a much more high end look. Also, one of the two sizes I got was quite worn, with ragged hemlines and wear in the overall fabric. I didn't wear the dress at all - had to go back to an old staple from my closet at the last minute. Bummer.
