Based on other reviews, I ordered a size 16 so that the bust area wasn't too large on me. The bust, length, and sleeves were all perfect. However, the waistband was just a little too tight. I wish it had a small amount of stretch - if so it would be perfect. It could be that an 18 would have better fit for me personally - usually I order a backup size (next time I will). I received tons of compliments. I also added a black cami tank under the dress, since the bust plunge would have been too much for work followed by a church wedding rehearsal. If I was going out for a date night, I would have let the girls show.

I am 5'7" and I currently wear size 14 pants, the Large fit me perfectly. After trying on the large, I didn't even try on the XL. The dress is very stretchy, so I imagine it would fit a large range of shapes and sizes. It hugged my curves beautifully, with the help of Spanx. I was worried that the Spanx would show out of the back, but they didn't at all. I was also worried that the sequins would bother my underarms, but there was no issue. Paired it with a headband and flapper necklace for a Speakeasy gala. I would wear this again in a heartbeat.
