The color is great and the cut outs are actually well placed even for me as a fit size 14-16. But I could not wear it. This dress was substituted for a conservative work sheath that, thanks to RtR Unlimited, was not returned yet and unavailable. This problem has happened more often and has me reconsidering my membership. After filling out all the sections on what the dress was for and what back ups might work, I got club wear with cut outs which required a strapless bra or no bra at all. NOT HAPPY. I tried it on to see if it would work for an evening part of the event, but I was traveling and had no bra that would work. Even as a C cup, bra-less looked okay (better than a lumpy strapless); but I could not go bra-less to a work event.

Fun, flippy skirt. I have a high waist with broad shoulders and curvy hips and have a terrible time finding an RtR fit that's not too tight; then it's too big at the waist. This dress has no stretch and at first I had trouble with my waist too high where the narrowest part of the dress hit, but my niece asked me to wear it. I had the 14 and 16 in my RtR check out when the 14 disappeared. I dont have good luck with the 14s in many designers so I stuck with the 16...and it was way too big! I had some fashion tape on hand so I folded and taped down the extra fabric under the arms and no one seemed the wise. I wore a coral cardigan that matched the top stripe on the neckline, and pulled it off. I received many compliments. I would love to try the 14 sometime, though! I didn't need to take advantage of the stretchy fabric under these circumstances but it lay flat, moved well, was comfortable, and provided the right amount of professional distinction at the speech I gave at our annual meeting.

Thanks to the reviewers who gave insight to the issue with the sleeves. Once I carefully got the tight sleeves in place at the underarm, and lined the seams up, the rest of the dress fell into place. The dress is gathered at the rib cage on the right side and above the hip on the left side. a few people thought this drape was hard to figure out but once in place it's very flattering. The dress was in beautiful condition but as soon as I saw how straight it was cut I knew it would not work on a curvy body. I could envision it on an athletic body but not another type like curvy or pear. I did read that women over a C cup had trouble with the dress but I thought as a C cup I might be safe if I went up a size. However, it allows so little room for the bust -- not just with barely-there darts, but then it cuts tightly in at the ribcage so that it puckers there. It won't drape after that puckering. Several levels of Spanx later it still would not drape. If you have breasts and a ribcage, this dress will not work unless you go up at least one or two sizes.

This is one of my favorite RtR rentals. While I was waiting for this event, I saw What Not to Wear with Lizz G and she wore this dress for the reveal. No wonder - it's striking without being loud, It's sexy and classy. I wore it to a business meeting and got lots of compliments. It seemed as if people didn't notice me immediately as I entered a room, but they did do a double take at me in the dress when it caught their eye; it snuck up on people. I love the color and print. I wore with cobalt blue heels. The dress hit just above the knee (I am almost 5.6") . The fabric was cotton that seemed brushed - very smooth and with just the right amount of stretch, that made it drape nicely. I still can't figure out the obsession with heavy visible zippers in the back of dresses, but at least the fabric was stiff enough to hold it's own with a heavy zipper and it's black so it was not hugely conspicuous. I did have to wear a shrug in my cold meeting room so it was out of sight. It was the same green as the pop of color on the décolletage and I was lucky I had a match.

Bright colors and nice fit. I got lots of compliments about the fit and spring colors, especially with a predicted spring snowfall on the way. It'r really a shame this designed doesn't just give the dress the same name in progressive sizes. I was afraid this "W" size would be the kind of 16W dress I see in stores (exaggerated room in the hips) but it is really just one size up from the previous size that's not in Womens. Which was good for me. This was my back up size, and the 14 fit a little snug without a foundation garment where the waist nips in. It was just a little big in this size, just as some 14s and most 16s are a little too big on me. If you are afraid the 14 will be too tight, this is a great back up size. RTR was great in adding this as my back up size but it had to done on the phone, not on line.

My mistake was betting on the wearers who said this ran large. If you have an athletic figure or otherwise can't fill out a low V neck, it may seem large in the bust, but it is NOT large throughout. I wear a 12 at Ann Taylor, a 14 most other places, but a 16 in many designers. Because of the many comments that this ran large, I chose size 12/14. The neckline was fine, but the shell didn't stretch although the mesh sequined overlay did; that meant the sequined mesh rode up but the shell did not, and inches of the shell were visible at the hem below the sequins. The sequined mesh also puckered in the back at the shoulders. Also, the mesh that is the basis for the sequins is very fragile, and was not holding up well after previous wears. Some of the mesh had broken and the loose threads needed to be tied off. I wore it because I was traveling for NYE and had a too-casual back up outfit. The color and ombre was beautiful, and I got compliments from people who saw me sitting or didn't look down at the hem; but I was lamenting that I didn't just go for the 16. Also, the sequins run high under the arms and after the NYE champagne wore off, I realized the skin there was raw/red, as other commenters have noted

Nice fit, and weight of fabric, but the dress in this size had been subject to heavy use. It had been dry-cleaned so many times that the pink had faded to what used to be called flesh tone. The pink color provides contrast and feminizes the black dress, and when faded, it is just another dress. I would not have been able to wear the pink shoes I had ready for this, because the dress had no pink in it. I did not wear it. If you look at the photos submitted, you'll see a LOT of variation in the pink color for wearers other than me.

This is one of the few larger size dresses on RTR and I ordered the 14 and 16 as I am in between sizes. Since my choices were limited and I feared a tight fit, I was braced for disappointment but it never came; I even wore the smaller size. The "mocha" color is great - almost the same as my golden blonde hair. The ruching is forgiving and flattering. The high, empire seam accented the bust. At almost 5'6", it came to my mid-knee. One person at the holiday party didn't recognize me and wanted to know what gorgeous hussy my husband had brought to the party instead of me. It really was a show stopper dress.
